Couple decent half-chances in the first half though, like everyone else, obvs not fully up to speed. He was fine.

This friendly isn't for fans to rant about. Played about 20 players, most in changeable positions and mainly youth. The manager can start to see any potential that could be worth working on and gettings minutes into legs against a currently fitter team. Unimportant and nothing to get irate about.

Let's upgrade like other clubs have done then, our fans deserve better all I'm saying nothing major.

We do, we have Alan Irwin on PL and cup games highlights, Griffiths only does like 3/4 preseason games and then sparingly for youth games. It’s not a massive deal

First half looked very good at times, just missing the goals. Goalkeeper made some good saves against him, first touch at times excellent.

I was impressed by Justin Clark in the eleven minute snippet of the match which I was able to watch. He seems unfazed by defenders and will try his best to create openings. Certainly somebody to monitor.

Watched the end of the first half and the entire second half and thought he was excellent.

Impressed by Heath and Clarke (only 16!) when they came on. Highlights what we really lack , pace and width!

There surely must be a right winger out there that fits the bill for what we desperately need.

Impressed by Armstrong - clearly a class act and might be needed this year. Iroegbunam has flashes of brilliance but gives the ball away too often -again centre midfield another area where we need to strengthen.

Decent run out in the rain, really hope our transfer business ramps up now.

Of the young lads:

Armstrong (not even sure he’s classed as a young lad now!): pure quality. Should be in the first team squad this season sharing minutes in the number 10 role, he looked better there than deeper in the second half, but versatility to do both roles is also a bonus.

Heath: second best performer from the youngsters. Looked tricky out wide on the left and has a good turn of pace. Won the penalty for Beto by driving at the defender.

Clarke: Decent performance on the right wing coming in on his left foot. One lovely bit of skill on the edge of the box to tee up Heath for Patterson to shoot.

Tyrer: Comfortable game at GK, good with his feet, could do nothing for the goal.

Tamen: Quite frankly had a shocker at right back; mistimed tackles, misplaced passes, decision making in and out of possession was poor. One glimpse when he got forward late on, but not a good showing.

Metcalfe: Not enough time to really see what he could do.
