Transfer Rumour Aaron Wan-Bissaka

I’m choosing to believe it’s not true for the moment..

But, if you seriously think he’d be a back up if we did sign him, you’re nuts. It would be Wan-Bissaka as first choice and O’Brien as cover or AWB + a young “project” right back who would barely get a minute.

Given the right kind of defensive set up he can play as an overlapping fullback and get crosses into the box, he did that more at Palace and United, less so at West Ham, is that the injuries or tactics?

He had some back and hamstring injuries toward the end of his man utd career, which may have affected his pace and ability to get up and down as much

Having said that, he had 3 assists in the season that just ended and 7 goal involvements in the season before, which is better than any of our fullbacks. Plus there is an actual chance of Moyes putting him in the starting lineup, so its a yes from me.

At West Ham he was absolutely rapid. His speed and agility are outstanding. Last season he had niggles and, for whatever reason, and he would also get played on at left back at times. But the club was a mess and it's not a good gauge of his peak performance.

That said, it is worth nothing that he can play very well on the left as required, which is another benefit to signing him. If, for example, Myko was injured but we had Tarkowski, JOB and Branthwaite available he could get shunted out there as a utility.
