Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

So for £6m would you? Not a lot in this day and age.

I'd probably be ok with that fee if he carries on the form of the last 2 games.

....I think much depends on who else RM has in mind for that wide role. I've gone on record as saying he's what we need in our current predicament (hard working, team player) but if RM has a more expansive option in mind Lennon could be a squad player, albeit a useful one.

He has surprised me with that QPR performance.

We need a player who can both stretch the game with pace and purpose, but, with our game possession based, we need someone who can play inside, bring his full back in field and allow Coleman to exploit the space.

I'd buy him, 100%

Personally dont think it'll be £6m. Plus i reckon we'd have agreed a fee within the loan agreement too.
The latter part of this I agree with. Sure we have a fee already agreed, just depends how much of the summer budget he will cost as to whether we sign him. Might be a set date to do the deal by and knowing us we won't sell Mirallas in time to free up funds to get the deal done.

Well, if Mirallas, Atsu and McGeady aren't here next season, we'll need more than one wide player. What we need to concentrate on is pace out wide, and desperately, a playmaker in the middle.

I can't see why people assume McGeady is going to go.

He's far more use to us here as the money we'd get for him would be buttons anyway.

I think McGeady is half decent, he's no world beater but he's been involved in most of our best performances this year and if he was fit now, I'd have him in.

6m is worth it. We'd be short on wingers if he goes, if he carries on as good as he is we'd miss him, and dirty sexy TV money - 6m now is not as much.

the player the fans didnt want to sign on loan and now he is being talked to be signed by same said fans lol (i know not all fans btw)

As i have said before he is a fast winger who is direct. He isnt world class but he isnt terrible either. He does his job and it either gets results like assists/penalties/goals or it doesnt work and you sub him after an hour. Worth the price in this market? Actually yes, considering how much he would be worth as a 21 year old winger and english then it is a good deal to spend 6-7. But i get the impression he is only here to prove a point to spurs and signing him would not be the best option for a player who has eyes on one club.

Don't know why you think that, unless you just have a hunch. Lennon has always given 100%, Spurs fans have always thought this, and his end product is not completely terrible. Its right that he could create a good partnersip with Coleman..both players would benefit. He will never get a regular place back at Spurs, and around 5/6 million might turn out to be a steal, which nobody gets often from Spurs !! Lennon and a few million for the never fully fit up his own a**e Mirallas would not be too shabby, either.

Its a hunch yeah. But the lad is a cockney, came through Spurs academy and up until poch took over he was first team, now finding himself frozen out. surely it is not too farfetched to think he wants to be at Spurs back home rather than be up in Liverpool, hell he looked over joyed to be here when he signed didn't he!

That all being said i am not against signing him for the right sort of money but i feel that any signing of Lennon would be as a replacement for mirallas and as fistrating as he is, Kev is a much better player. In an ideal world i'd like us look for another Kev rather than fall back on Lennon because he is already here.
