Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

Who would want to pay those wages for a player that never plays?!
Any team fighting relegation. He would cost them 3m to 4m over two years in wages and for that price could be the difference in them staying up. It would be a gamble for them but if he stayed fit would look like a very good bit of business come the end of the season.

In this current market mate if lamela at spurs is worth 30 odd million kev is easy worth 18 million
Lamela is a totally different purchase to Kev. He was 21 when they bought him and banging the goals in for fun at Roma. They saw him as the next Gareth Bale so while 30m was expensive they where probably banking on him being worth over 50m in a few years so that had to be factored into the price.

LADS/LADIES...

Off topic again, so apologies, but if anyone can make it that'd be brilliant...

Thanks for looking...x

He was still untested in this league though.
But even so some of the money being paid for bang average players is incredible.
McCormack went for 11 million in the championship
The prices will be even crazier this summer with the sky pot of gold so kev for 18 million why not

If DiMaria is worth 60M then Kev is worth 20M AMRITE? Well no, the transfer market really work that way. The top 10-12 money sides operate in a totally different world than well the rest of the world and unless one of those sides desperately want Kevin his value isn't going to be much.

Kev's contract is almost up, he's getting up there in age, is sometimes invisible, and most importantly is forever injured. Expect an offer of around 5-6M.

Kev will still only be 27 when next season kicks off.
I still think there is a great player in there who has been badly managed this season.
Yes he seems to get too many injuries but I think he could do a job for spurs or arsenal.
I better not go on because its off topic

There's no way Kev is a 18m pound player. He's not even worth 13m.
It's a strange one as I struggle to actually think what is an acceptable value for him, especially when I take the 'Blue Tinted' glasses.

The easiest option is to compare against other players and their values, yet as yourself and @Rook mentioned, this isn't an perfect option.

Kevin De Bruyne left Chelsea for £18m and I'd argue he's a better (or consistent) player than Mirallas. So he must be worth less than £18m?

Moreover, there is the issue that his contract is expiring and his current sulking persona, so does that also mean that his value is lower?

But then he's a proven Premiership player with international experience and does have talent and ability. Some would argue that adds values?

Really, it depends on the current market value of players of his type and stature at the time, who he's going to and how much they value him at.

Personally, I think the £18m some people are spouting is overly ambitious, but it's not impossible. Especially as the TV money will inflate prices.

I'd suggest his true value is more about the £10-13m mark, however if people really him then his value could easily be manipulated higher.

Yet equally, his actions and those of the club as a whole (our ambitions and other transfer activity) could easily force it lower.

Any less would be poor business and £15m I would be very happy; £18m I would be excstatic. Anything over then we've used a SWAG bag.

Any young player who shows a bit of promise is absurdly valued (Shaw anyone? Hell we could have got close to 50M for Barkley last year). Plus the market for strikers is crazy. Other than that its quite restrained. Kev's situtation is a lot similar to Clint Dempsey. Contract almost up, mid-late 20s, wanted to go to a C-league club. And the bids for Dempsey were only 4M from the RS and 6M to spurs. This coming off a year Dempsey scored 20 (which wasn't no flash in the pan as he'd been improving every year) and has rarely been injured.

The only way we get 10M for him is if there is if a bidding war develops between 2-3 clubs.

Are people really saying that Kevin Mirallas, who has two years left on contract is only worth as much as Shane Long, who was bought for 12million?
Give yer head a whirl, the finance game has changed.
Even despite his flaws and his ability to pick up injuries, he is comfortably worth between 15-25 million in todays market, given that he's been able to clearly contribute through goals and assists over several seasons in the upper echelons of the league.
12 million FFS

Still wouldn't pay any more than £4m for Lennon. He's a player doing his best to earn a contract, but I saw enough of him at Spurs to know his true level. Once he's on a permanent, it's very likely he'll revert to form.

Anything more than £4m is an unreasonable gamble for a player who has completely failed at Spurs and should command no substantial fee whatsoever. If Levy wants to play hardball, I'd hope Everton look elsewhere fairly quickly.
