Not to bring everydown down too much, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.

the last thing i would want is for everton to do what barnsley did, to make it that far and not even end up in the final.

we have an absolute bear minimum of 360 minutes of football separating us from the cup, most likely if we are lucky enough to get there, it will be well well in excess of that.

this result is glorious, but it doesn't change our league position, and i still think the league should be top priority. our squad proved today that we have what it takes to challenge for a 4th place spot, now lets go out and do it.

i'm as happy as every other blue, but lets not forget that this win is as much a triumph as beating an other team in this round would have been, from a practical standpoint. it means a lot to us as fans, but other than that if we'd beaten forest in this round, we'd be in the exact same position.

so when we play bolton on saturday, lets make sure we're not hung over before we even win anything, i sincerely hope that the team don't keep an eye on the games ahead, we need to dig our heels in and get wins off of all of our next 4 games, perhaps even more, as those are all easily winnable games.

so as your celebrating tonight, lets just not forget that the true test is still yet to come (y)

Who care's mate. A win over the [Poor language removed] is a win, and my past comments on what was more important still stand, but a win is a win, and it's going to give Gosling loads of confidence, Rodwell, and I hasten to add VDM too.

to beat that pile of poop from over the park means more than whatever reality chucks at us next. Stuff reality, we beat them and I'm happy and so are you my fellow Blues.:D

to be able to stand and listen to that lot come out with all the lame excuses as to why they didnt win.......priceless.

can't wait to go into work and grin at them. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

can't wait.

I dont care we knocked the RS out of the FA Cup they have lost it in the league and they will lose in europe so yet again they will win sweet [Poor language removed] all (y)(y)

The reality is,

every other team is looking at us and thinking, Man Utd could only beat them with a dubious penalty, Chelsea, and Arsenal both had a pop and could only draw, Liverpool had 2 attempts at home and couldn't do it, and Everton are then the first ones to beat them in god knows how many games.

I hope we don't play them.

The reality is

We are awesome, and just getting better.

We just knocked the RS out, under the floodlights, at home in the most dramatic circumstance possible.

It will be wasted if we dont turn up against Villa, but right now, lets just bask in the glory of our team.

winning the cup and getting good results in the league are what we should be gunning for.

but beating liverpool is just so special it's a stand alone result. the reality is that all my rs mates can go bollocks! i was dancing round the front room at 5 a.m here on the other side of the world in fact it was closer to 8 a.m and that result has given me a massive pick me up for the rest of the week. just like any other blue.

so there is the reality. we just beat liverpool and to this blue that means a hell of a lot. growing up with these ******s in school and work makes the victory much more sweet.

happy, happy days.

trust me everyone i'm on cloud 9 just like the rest of you, i haven't done any work since the result, i'm probably not going to get any sleep, and i can't bring myself to care :)

i just don't want to come crashing down, its extra special to beat liverpool, i just think we should make sure we stay grounded and don't get ahead of ourselves.

anyways, perhaps i made this thread a bit too early. enjoy the next few days, we can talk about what comes next later on :)

Reality, not today. Not us. It feels like we've won the cup at the moment. I do believe we can go on and win it as well. However I think some ITV employee will be getting a reality check this morning, size 9 up his pants whoever pressed the wrong button to go to adverts just before we scored.

We've just won the derby and are still in the cup.

We've just seen Arteta's most dominant, skilful performance - who knew he could get better?!

We've got an all English back 4 that are at the moment, second in efficiency only to Man Utd.

We've just seen the 1st true glimpse of two future England International's in action - if they can play like that in a derby match at 17 & 19, their and our futures are very bright.

Over the last 2/3 months, we've been playing some of the best football I can remember and have more team spirit (other than Anichebe) and fight (especially Anichebe) than any other team in our league and most others.

Meanwhile;

They go into their next match/es beaten, bereft of confidence, unable to beat their supposedly weaker rivals over 3 matches, without their leader Gerrard, more than likely without Torres, without Lucas or Alonso through suspension and with a manager that's slowly(?) edging closer and closer to a straight jacket.

I haven't even put the rose-tinted glasses on yet - for once it's brilliant being a Toffee!...

In fairness though the players must be out on their feet after the effort last night!

A similar effort against Fiorentina last year saw loose to Fulham 1-0. The squad is going to be tested once more over the next three days.
