I dont see why he would.Bill must be praying to the football gods that we don't make Europe
Because of the aforementioned shopping spree we would needI dont see why he would.

Use it as experience for the younger/fringe players if we don't buy for European success. Add a couple of quality players in there to give them a chance.
Get Junior, Green, Robles, Vellios, Kennedy, Hope, Browning out there and playing, throw in 3 or 4 seniors we can rotate for the league. They may well be more than a match for the early stage teams and put up a decent fight against the better opponents, we'll not win it, but we probably won't anyway..
You're too old and not good enoughI really want to play in Europe next season.

Judging from his astute and insightful contributions to this forum, I suspect ijjy would be a very good holding midfielder. A bit like Barry perhaps; not the quickest around but his footballing perspicacity atones for that.Y

why the losing mentality? if we strengthen the squad we can certainly challenge for the europa league
Do you think the sort of money required to build the huge squad needed to win the Europa league, without dropping league position would be a worthwhile gamble?
I doubt we'll spend much at all when you consider our chairman, which is why I recommend playing lots of the youngsters instead of destroying our league campaign.
We wouldnt be spending money to win it specifically, we'd be spending to be competitive across all competitions with the extra games which would be the same if we were in CL. So no, its not a gamble. The squad needs more quality and numbers if it actually can be done..lets see in the summer.
Youre still banging on about destroying our league campaign, which number one is ott and not a fact, and number two its been pointed out several times that the QF run in Uefa didnt affect us at all despite our small squad.
We are just better than most clubs that qualify from our league for Europe and better run in many ways than Spurs who like to change managers seasonally and buy half the worlds supply of players.
Have faith and lets see how we do if we qualify and stop stressing on something that theres no evidence to show will happen to us.
I'm not still banging on about anything, i only mentioned it once because generally teams struggle to play league, Europe and domestic cups with an any size squad, let alone ours. Its not ott to suggest a load more games is likely to impact detrimentally on our squad is it?
As for the stressing and having faith, nothing in my post was said in stress. I was just throwing out a thought based on our past.. i.e not having money to spend and how we can cope.
I have faith.. my faith is in the youth that we've got, yours is clearly that Kenwright will find a load of money, we'll see if either thoughts are justified in the fullness of time mate.
Would love a big quality squad, but I can't see it happening any time soon, would also like to see us do well on all fronts, in which case I still recommend showing a bit of faith in the youth players and not relying on a small hub of senior players playing 3 games a week.

And pass up the chance to sit in a stadium in Romania or Malta crying about how great it is that Everton are in Europe?
Never mate, he'd be well up for it!
Well in fairness it just feels like ive seen you harping on about this a few times, sorry if thats not true.
I dont have faith in money being spent as I guess nobody does. I have faith in the fact we are a good club with a solid foundation and now with a manager who will use whatever resources he has from the youth to loan signings to, hopefully, those transfer funds. I don't see us as a club who will sink under the stress of extra games. We havent done before and we already have a bigger, and more active allround, squad than the teeny ones that competed well in league and UEFA cup before.
You mention using the youth but appears to be more about giving them experience in a cup thats not important, than actually having an interest in us competing in Europe. Early rounds we can use one or two younger players MAYBE but we will need the experience in there too.
Anyway, I hope we qualify.

Your supposed to follow up in fairness...with something fair
I havn't been harping or banging on, i've only just joined the discussion.
If there is no money, we're not getting the extra bodies you say is all we need, therefore realistically, we are very uinlikely to win in Europe. If the moneys there, ace, go for it, increase the squad to make way for injuries and fatigue, but if not, you need a contingency plan to just sending out the same 11+subs 3 games a week for a few months.
My point was that if we can't buy, we should look at the youth, rather than just send out the same players game after game until they break.
