Unfortunately I do understand true mathematics and this is simple arithmetic which follows the rules of BIDMAS where multiplication occurs before addition in the calculation.
Without rules mathematics would fail and the world wall fall into 1000 yrs of chaos where we would be ruled by popcorning tits.
I reckon you've wikied that mate. If I was speaking to a true mathematician then I'd know it and I'm not. Apart from the very obvious signal that someone would think the answer to that is 41!

Yes my expertise is in other areas, but I've studied Maths to a level that my Maths teaching sister with a double Maths degree didn't understand. But this is not about the level of Maths education it is about simple arithmetic that follows the rules of BIDMAS.

All in seriousness now degs you're wrong mate, I would know this.
BIDMAS is subjective if, as you claim, you have an advanced knowledge of mainline mathematics. That's how I know you're not where I'm coming from in terms of mathematical knowledge mate.
Absolutely no shame in that like but while it's not your area of expertise, it most certainly is mine.
Anyone who does not give the correct answer of 81 is wrong but for many it's understandable coming from a generic standard of mathematical schooling. I can give you some recommended studying which you can buy off amazon if you want mate, helped me a lot.
