7. France 1-1 Brazil, 1986
Remember watching that as a kid, amazing game.
7. France 1-1 Brazil, 1986
Seems very odd to have one of the host countries managers already out job hunting before tournament even started
* West Germany 1-0 Austria, Spain 1982It's a definite top 10 game for me. In tentative order...
1. West Germany 3-3 France, 1982
2. France 3-2 Portugal, 1984
3. Belgium 4-3 USSR, 1986
4. Italy 3-2 Brazil, 1982
5. Spain 4-3 Yugoslavia, 2000
6. Romania 3-2 Argentina, 1994
7. France 1-1 Brazil, 1986
8. Argentina 3-3 France, 2022
9. Czech Republic 3-2 Holland, 2004
10. France 4-3 Argentina, 2018
This World Cup could go like 94 which was ultra boring due to the weather at some of the venues.
And, if I may, another half dozen old favourites...* West Germany 1-0 Austria, Spain 1982
Memorable world cup games
1. Italy 0-1 Ireland, USA 1994

3. Brazil 1-7 Germany, Brazil 2014
4. Portugal 5-3 North Korea, Goodison 1966
5. Argentina 2-1 England, Mexico 1986
6. Argentina 0-1 Cameroon, Italy 1990
7. France 0-1 Senegal, S.Korea 2002

9. Uruguay 1-1 Ghana, Germany 2010
10. England 3-2 Cameroon, Italy 1990
11. Scotland 0-3 Morocco, France 1998
Well, brace yourself. This time we have a 48 team field with 32 advancing to the knockouts...I think the bigger factor then was the 24 team field with 16 advancing to the knockouts. The group stage was dreadfully dull.
I love that game. Highly underrated. The two Dutch matches in 1992 against Germany and, especially, Denmark were also classics.Russia's 3-1 win against the Netherlands in 2008 was also a special performance. Arshavin launched himself.
Cough, BeckhamAnd, if I may, another half dozen old favourites...
1. France 2-1 England, 2022
2. Croatia 2-1 England, 2018
3. Uruguay 2-1 England 2014
4. Germany 4-1 England 2010 (oh yes, indeed)
5. Portugal 0-0 England 2006 (Portugal wink on penalties)
6. Brazil 2-1 England, 2002 (Seaman most definitely all over the gaff that day)
One of the truly great games, that. Perhaps the best England performance at a World Cup since 1966. That said, the fact that Argentina couldn't put away 10 men probably told the tale of why they were never going to win that tournament and, inevitably, they ran into Bergkamp in the very next round...Cough, Beckham
7. Argentina 2-2 England, 1998.
And the German shallacking of Brazil.I love that game. Highly underrated. The two Dutch matches in 1992 against Germany and, especially, Denmark were also classics.
