Well that's pretty bizarre, but they must have some reasoning behind it.
Make sense really given that the full season ticket allocation was taken up.

Given the changes to club view, if I can’t get in the same stand as my family I’ll almost certainly stay.

They were either staff, seat unique or allocated to specific supporters club or travel partners. I am talking about availability of general admission tickets.
The general admission tickets I would imagine are the seats that go into the ballot, which are tickets that nobody wanted first time round.
The fairest way would be to add the tickets that aren't renewed to the above then give the STH who want to move the option of any tickets available.
Once that's done offer the quota of non renewals to the waiting list.
Of course I should be offered the first one for sorting out the problem for them.

After much back on forth I’ve decided to renew. I was just going to get tickets on the resale platform as there seems to be a steady supply but a couple of things stopped me. Firstly if I pick and choose games and there’s a lot of Monday nights next season, I know I’ll probably not go to many and eventually that mean not going at all I reckon. Secondly if we get good 😂, I’ll never get my seat back and it’s a good one.

I suspect that it will a combination of season tickets not renewed and what was left before the start of this season when the renewals were closed. In reality though all that was left after the renewals window was closed was tier 2 in the north east corner and north west corner with a few in North stand upper as well. There was nothing left in the lower tier or south stand. It sounds as though once they say it’s your turn to move if you want to then you will be able to keep checking to see if others move. How good your options are will depend mainly on how many don’t renew. In reality though there’s not much else they could do.

Seems desperate times in peoples heads. The club will be taking notice of frantic decisions from fans for their own future aims. Calm down! Wait for the structured ticket price hikes first.

17% walking away from a ST at a brand spanking new stadium is a massive slap in the face for the club's commercial department.

They've spectacularly bollocksed this up.

I would guess that people will be waiting until they know how much it is actually going to cost before making a decision.
I don't think people not renewing can be laid at the current commercial departments door.
There are 2 main issues the first one is the number of midweek games and that is not the clubs fault. That could be eased if we qualify for Europe, I know that means more night games but it doesn't effect season ticket holders as they then have a choice whether to attend.
The other is the accessibility to and from the ground which could and should have been dealt with between the club and the council before the ground was opened.
Even this you can't totally blame the council for adopting a wait and see policy as the club under Kenwright ballsed up so many ground moves that the council probably didn't expect it to happen.
There was 96% renewals last year and I would expect about 90% this year as a lot of older fans find it a bit of a struggle, I personally was in row 60 for the last game and at 71 I do find it a bit of a climb and wouldn't even contemplate a slash at half time.

There's a waiting list of people who will snap those up in a heartbeat. I suspect when it comes to the deadline for renewing, those 17% on here will have a sudden change of heart.

Some will fold, yes. But even if 10% walked away that'd be a significant statement.

As for those snapping up a ST: I bet there's loads on the waiting list looking on in horror at the limitations ST holders have faced this season transferring tickets etc and they'll think the better of taking one.

I said before this move that it'd lead to some social engineering which takes the club in a different direction in terms of core support. That's obviously happening quicker than many of us expected. Yes, KO times and transport are contributing, but the whole ticketless, digital and walled in environment - as well as the cost of it all - is the key factor in the disenchantment.

In short: people are being ripped off and it's contributing to the alienation and that's got long term Everton fans walking away in droves.
