I'm not a US citizen or massively interested in the day-to-day of the race, so I pose a question to the people in here who know their stuff, etc.: I feel like on the outside looking in, Trump has a real chance of winning; it seems like he's got an unwavering amount of support and did well in the primary vote. His fans and pollers support him despite his criminal proceedings and lousy reputation. On the other hand, Biden seems quiet, and I don't see much said about him other than his controversies, like his family getting bribes from Ukraine; I'm not sure if that's true btw. I see a different level of support for Biden than Trump. So, does Trump have a chance to win, or do you think people will mobilise in the next few months and get behind Biden? I'm genuinely interested.
Also, do you think people will vote for Biden simply because they hate Trump? I feel that could be a significant factor too
Yes, Trump has a chance to win.
It'll come down to 5 or 6 stats. No one elses vote will matter.
Most of Bidens votes will come in the form of a protest vote against Trump.
They could 'Weekend at Bernies' Bidens corpse and I'd still vote for him.
Trump is only doing ok in the primaries. On tuesday in some states he only took 75% of the vote in a one horse race.
As for the Ukraine stuff, the open committee hearing yesterday hilariously put that to bed with everyone except Trump loons who believe JFK is still alive.
Turn out in the swing states is key. If the democrats can clearly articulate the dangers of Trump, Biden should be ok.
Thats a big 'if' tho.
One other thing. The stock markets are at a record high.
Here in the states, most jobs come with pensions. These pensions are all tied to the markets.
Right now, your 401k is worth more than ever.
This is the kind of thing that'll swing independents and some moderate republicans.
