You do realise that X allows all opinions, and corrections or, if you prefer, fact checks are added to all posts (previously-mentioned Community Notes), including those from Musk himself?
It's no longer a vehicle used as a political tool against a Presidential candidate. The previous owners very publicly admitted as much.
What about the fact checks in the New York Post or on CNN? Oh yeah they don't exist, it's fine to publish totally out of context things or just outright lies.
It's bizarre how often things like this happen. People who are so self sure that the policy they are voting for doesn't include them even though it is massively against their interests.
It happened with Brexit. The amount of Conservative ex-pats living in continental Europe who voted for it and were then shocked that they could no longer carry on living in Spain or wherever once Brexit came into force.
It's like they thought the vote would keep people out of the UK and not apply to them moving out.
A mate of mine runs an estate agents business in Spain and the sheer amount of Brits trying to sell property there caused the local Villa/Holiday Apartment prices to nose dive.
He was then faced with many of these same people demanding to know why the property they spent most of their savings on was now worth significantly less.
I think some people live their lives like they are the main character and all this stuff doesn't affect them.
If Trump and the 2025 team start bringing some of their supposed plans to fruition, I think we're going to be seeing a lot of "This isn't what I voted for!" shouts from certain groups of people who voted for him.
Sorry to say, but it is exactly what they voted for.

I’m just struggling today to see where the country even goes from here. The two sides are just far apart that it’s hard to see where political common ground can be found between the two. The choice was between a self-described sex predator felon and a black woman, and more than half the country chose the former.
He’ll appoint at least 2 more justices to the court, which essentially guarantees that abortion rights are gone for the rest of my life, and I’m only 40. Hard to imagine gay (and possibly interracial) marriage, or birth control surviving. God have mercy on any trans people here.
He’s already been granted full immunity by the courts, so he’s free to do as he pleases. I sincerely hope he doesn’t make good on his threats to use the military to stamp out dissent, but I’m not counting on it. He’s one of the most vindictive people to ever walk the planet.
He’s got both chambers of Congress for at least two years before there’s even the tiniest glimmer of hope. The Democrats are a mess, but if people are actually voting just with their wallets and think they’re hurting now, they’re REALLY going to be hurting once his tariffs kick in and the cost of everything doubles overnight. They’ll be pining for the days of 5% inflation. So maybe there’s some ground to be gained in the 2026 midterms. RFKjr is an idiot, but even once be bans vaccines, four years hopefully won’t be enough time to fully undo a century of public health. I honestly don’t know. Maybe Trump fully running the ship aground will break the fever. Or maybe it won’t.

I no longer believe they are this insightful. Besides Trump/GOP will blame it on others and the cult will believe and accept that as truth as that is what cults do.

Checked in with my friend today. Internally struggling, but at work (physician and a damn good one) taking care of folks who absolutely adore him and the vast majority having no idea they voted away his rights...potentially his existence.
This isn't true, both the new York Post and cnn are subject to more regulation regards fact checking than twitter

The narrative that lied about the Southport killer being an illegal immigrant who was on a MI5 watchlist along with a fake name (none of these things were true) was spread on X by a Russian disinformation site reposting its article there. This was the trigger for the racist anti-immigration riots that followed.
