By late 2023 global wheat prices had already reached a lower price than early-mid 2021, they had pretty much a one year spike on the markets. The USA also never imported wheat from the Ukraine so zero supply disruption from that to them.

Basically a crisis happens prices across the product directly effected go up greatly, any product associated goes up, and everyone uses it to raise every price just a little, crisis over the prices now go down but to a much higher bsse level.

Just because they don't import from Ukraine doesn't mean the supply disruption didn't affect the global prices available to them. That's what happens in a globalized economy

The prices never return to what they were pre-crisis and other businesses get jealous of the profiteering and test the waters with their own increases and here we are.

I said on Monday that my gut feeling was he would win again although I very much hoped she would squeak it.

Perhaps if Biden had said after the midterms he wasn’t running again and we’d had an open primary then it might have gone slightly different but honestly I doubt it.

Trump out performed all his GOP primary rivals like DeSantis and he outperformed all the rest of the GOP candidates yesterday. And yet Mini-Trumps like Kari Lake that run on the same message rarely seem to win.

Voters seem to like the specific package he, and he alone, is selling. I won’t pretend that I come close to understanding it.

I cant get behind him voting Trump, but I think there's more than a grain of truth in this in terms of the Harris campaign exaggerating the nature of Trump.

But Trump regularly treats himself as superior and frequently insults a broad swath of people - even his own supporters. So why doesn’t the same theory apply?
