There's a big difference between the economy and how Americans actually perceive the economy. The Republicans have always been able to market themselves as the safest custodians of it even though their economic record is mostly a dumpster fire. It's not about the product in the US, it's about how you sell it

Even if Harris manages to eke this out, even if she won convincingly, it doesn’t change the truths about my country.

Democrats sometimes fail to connect with people, for reasons that I don’t feel like discussing now. Finer points of messaging and platform shouldn't matter and maybe it’s all futile- maybe we’ve just decided, as a people, to drop the pretense and embrace Trunpism.

The thing I always find interesting though when they put up economic figures is this

Each month do you find yourself having to cut back in spending over the previous one, if the answers yes for the majority then that is the 'real state of the economy' as it applies to the person casting a vote.

They had no time to pick the right candidate, if in fact there was one. All down to Biden’s stubborn pride/ego. If he’d have said he wasn’t running this time last year, they have a much better chance at beating Trump.

Shame on the republicans for allowing him to run though. I feel like any centre right Republican wins this election, but the person they’ve chosen and the people around him this time are potentially going to tear the world apart.
