I labelled the views which formed an overwhelming majority. I didnt attack any individual. Which was my point in the first place.

And i do truly believe the world is f****d. Regardless of the results of this election. Whatever the outcome, it wont stop.
Never said you attacked an individual. I very clearly stated you attacked the room, which you now seem to acknowledge.

Noted that you think the world is f****d.

see, that's it. Trump would deride someone for taking their kids to drag story hour.
Trump supporters would deride someone for taking their kids to drag story hour,

It's fine when it's not for you, just move on. But what's happening is there are movements to ban it.
People think it's perverse and leads to pedophelia.
People like the guy in the video Kevin posted say "for sure there's gender dysphoria" but then start listing extreme rare cases to make his point.
The whole movement is based around fear and division. And what ends up happening is the kid with gender dysphoria doesn't get treated because everyone in Trumps world thinks drag queens are perverts and warns about perversion and pedophelia. The kid goes untreated because the parents are indoctrinated.
Ban books about trans kids, ban medical interventions for trans kids, eventually ban any mention of Transsexuals. It's erasure.

Indoctrination of every form is a cancer mate.

I'm not in favour of banning most things, I don't like certain things being promoted as a good thing I'll be truthful, but banning is very rarely an answer, except for obviously criminal stuff.

@Ruairi77
I'll just put out my POV, if a parent wants to raise his child to hd e certain beliefs, go for it, be that religious, or a belief that gender is fluid.

An issue is take, is when it crosses the line between brainwashing a child - you see it with ultra religious families sometimes - and the kids by and large tend to grow up to be messed up mentally. Similarly if someone for whatever reason here's their kid say they think they are x or y, and they jump into the acceptance of such and almost push the kid down that path, then as in the above it's plain wrong (I'm hoping these instances are way less frequent than it seems (and I suspect that is the case)).

To me that latter behaviour strikes me as a degree of narcissistic behaviour or a new modern age version of Munchausen By Proxy Syndrome on behalf of the parent (usually mother), but a version which in the current climate goes unquestioned.

No doubt I'll be labelled by some now as anti trans, it's an easy label to throw at people, i honestly don't really care if someone feels better by sticking a label on me.

The entire media obsession with it, including it being the new go to thing to be in Hollywood, or for their kids, just feels downright dystopian.
This is where the MAGA narrative goes off the rails

No one is "pushing kids down the path" of changing their gender. No one. That's a MAGA fear mongering talking point.

What the other side wants to do is provide care for those kids/teens if they are having those feelings.

It's not the new "go-to thing" FFS. It's simply being a decent human being and recognizing some people struggle with this identity. People are only seeing this as the "new go-to thing" b/c it's being addressed as an issue that affects some people.

I'm old enough to remember a time when gay people had to stay in the closet for years, sometimes for their whole life. It's now something that is more accepted. It's not that "more people are gay now" than 100 years ago. It's only that more people today can be comfortable living what they know to be true about themselves, rather than hiding in the closet, which is what society demanded in the past.

The same can be said on the trans topic

I just don't think it should be taught in primary schools is all. By all means make the care and support available to all children, but I don't believe it should be a part of a very young person's education when they're learning their ABCs.

I don't agree with all of the hardcore 'MAGA' stuff, but some of it, as I highlighted in my list (such as men in women's sports, men being allowed to 'identify' as women and use the same toilets as little girls without them having a say in the matter, etc.) is absolutely spot on.

And if wanting to stop mass illegal migration is deemed hardcore then the world needs to stop and we all need to get off.

Always hated panto myself mate, nowt to do with the drag I just found it annoying as hell even as a kid 😂
Also I hate the circus - can't go with the kids the wife takes them as I have a mortal fear of clowns.... No joke.
Don't ike zoos either, especially city zoos, just feel massively sorry for the animals held there, try to take the kids to the reserve type parks instead.

Honestly mate, I'd rather the kids weren't like me, want them trying to be their own and better, but yeah i was brought up to be very open minded (btw i still am in real life if you know me) kids i guess I'm trying to just be good people - still early days but fingers crossed both are heading the right direction 🙏
Good post!

Tbh I never saw panto as a kid, only went with my own and loved it. Stupid, cheap gags, inuendo and screaming kids

Don't mean this to sound flippant even though it probably will come across that way.

I'm also old enough to know the time when coming out as gay was f'ing hard and sometimes near impossible for lots.

As for nobody pushing it as an agenda, sorry mate some people are because they make a living off pushing it - and yup on the right some make a career against over amplifying the issue for their own gains (Matt Walsh, Owens, various others). Both sides of the debate have bad eggs amongst them and they actually feed each others narratives.

Now for the bit I feel will come across flippant, my youngest is now 6 when he was 2-3 he thought he was Bon Jovi (no joke) we didn't worry and panic and rush out to get him a mullet a guitar and a leather vest and skin tight jeans, after that period past he believed wholeheartedly he was Iron man, as parents we smiled and knew it would pass, we didn't start calling him Tony Stark and paint a mustache on him then either. As we knew it was just a phase all kids go through when they don't have a true conception of self identity. If in a year he tells us he feels like he's a girl, we won't start calling him by a girls name and dressing him as one either, because in this regard also he still doesn't have a conception of self identity. We certainly won't fuel the notion he is in fact maybe a very rare individual who identifies as a different gender to what they are biologically.

Does that make us bad parents... To some it probably does, for me it means I understand kids in large part don't know what the hell they are until the reach adulthood in most cases - and whilst it may be rare (I hope) there is definitely an element of parents who think very different and indeed do fuel this notion
