Trumpets might be a more fitting description. Trumpers could work to but might only work on a UK audience.

The betting public is betting on a systemic polling error in favour of Trump. It happened in 2016 and 2020. Nothing guarantees a similar outcome though. It’s a bit like betting on a warm winter because the previous one was cold.

But even the betting market are giving Trump a 6 in 4 chance.

I think that is part of it , if you read this thread there are links to reports of betting manipulation by figures connected to the trump campaign as well . Plenty happening

I can't say this enough. The polls mean nothing. They are deadlocked, which means they mean even less
