North Carolina, I want to say Asheville specifically, so maybe due to the situation?

I think she might have mentioned something happening before but not confident on the details.
I'm in NC, although eastern. There has been some push to allow more time for affected counties, but I'm not if any changes were made.

The absentee ballots did go out later than initially planned because Kennedy had to be removed from the ballots.

North Carolina counties have started distributing absentee ballots for the November general election to those who have requested them

Election officials in all 100 counties planned to mail out the first ballots to regular state residents starting Tuesday; ballots to military and overseas voters requesting them went out starting this past Friday

More than 207,000 absentee ballot requests have been received

State law directed that the first absentee ballots were to go out on Sept. 6, but appeals courts prevented ballots containing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name from going out, which led to reprinting and a roughly two-week delay

This was published September 24 so should have been sent September 20.

This site has deadlines and a way to track your ballot (not sure if that is one it's way too you or only after you post it)

She said she has checked on something but being a stereotypical man, I didn't ask too many questions  🤷‍♂️. We have been checking the mail more regularly than we usually do. We will see.

Just saw a piece on YouTube from a Haley for Harris group which gave me a bit of hope. The dude who heads it up was saying they have stats from their group that 20 odd % of Haley supporters are voting for Harris with another 30 odd % still undecided (the rest have decided to vote Trump). He was saying that in swing states this will make a difference.
For perspective, Haley got 300,000 GOP primary votes in Michigan when the nomination contest was still underway.

In Pennsylvania, she got just shy of 160,000 votes and in Wisconsin, she got nearly 78,000 - after Trump had already secured the nomination.

….Trump now odds-on favourite to win the election, it’s not looking good for Harris (n)
Kamala went rapidly down in the polls the second she shut down the "Jesus is King" in her rally, what an idiotic thing to do. Honestly, everything can be traced back to that moment. Now all the GOP rallies and ads have been all about that. She's completely alienated the biggest base in the American electorate, which is Christians.

Yeah that bothered me but then I read about these huge bets being placed on him which will obviously shift his odds.... 3 very large bets originating from outside the US....call me cynical but if (hopefully when) he loses, I have no doubt he will be adding this to the 'it was stolen' nonsense.
I read this on Reuters news btw

Wow. Kamala Harris is attending a rally in Houston (Harris County, the largest by population in the state by far) on Friday, just 11 days before Election day. To give an idea of Harris County's size, over 125,000 people voted on day 1 of early voting. That's more than in Austin and San Antonio combined.

It's fascinating to me that she will spend time in Texas so close to the end of the election. I am sure a big part of it is raising money but Texas?

I'll be praying they know something I don't...
Its the same as Trump going to NY and CA. It's to give an impression of confidence.

Like you mate I like a bet and I noticed this the other week . Have a look into it or even through this thread there seems to be a couple of specific big money punters /trump supporters /election influencers placing huge bets and these bets are big enough to shift the odds and I suspect are then drawing other punters in .

it wasn’t long ago Harris was the favourite, then it became a pick ‘em but fairly quickly it moved to trump . Given the polls I couldn’t figure it out but reading up it does seem there is a bit more to it than just a few bets .

I just assumed it was an effort to drive turnout in hopes that maybe, just maybe they could win the Senate race and oust Ted Cruz. I can’t imagine they actually think there’s a chance the state goes blue in the Presidential election.

Why so sure?
1. No one is actually organized enough to do anything at scale.
2. Our military would end anything within days even if they were. You have guns, they have drones.
3. Because as much as people complain, they still have it relatively good over here. The bulk of the population isn’t going to put their lives at risk because deep down they all know there’s more to lose than to gain in some sort of revolution. The only people that would try are those who make politics their entire existence. And in those cases, see points 1 and 2.

I mean it's certainly a good bit of different and free TV exposure (networks - "look! Kamala's in TEXAS!!") and I'm sure they'll talk about Texas' extreme abortion ban which will play in other states.

It's hopeful, on my part, there's something else afoot. No Dem POTUS candidate has been in Texas this close to election day since Bill Clinton - 30 years ago.
