Look at inflation, wages, utilities, housing, insurance and I am guessing here but food & petrol/gas.

There are A LOT of financial charts (which people can find for themselves) that all point to this being an actual massive recession in the US -- being covered for the time being by the absolute mess of a government.

Honestly they're probably not better off. I'm not sure they were much better off under Trump either. The stock market increases under both, but I don't think it's filtering down.

Inflation has been a problem, but can you honestly say Trumps monetary policy of low interest rates + huge stimulus at stock market all time highs made any sense? And what impact do you honestly think his tariffs are going to have on inflation?

Right, agriculture and construction are two industries that don't need cratering. There's lots of talk about young Americans returning "to the trades" and I'm all for that but so few want to do the trade work and many seem to want to run the business side of the trade. But even still, we don't have enough people in these trades to begin with.

What I can't figure out is what happens to guys like Pence and Vance. Are they just terrible people, or have they inserted themselves in and then felt too deep to get out? Why can't they just tell the truth about what's happening--do they think it will all go away and people will like them afterwards?

Listened to Liz Cheneys speech last night and tho I fairly detest her dad and disagree with most of her political views, was impressed by her courage.

Trump lost the tariff wars to China and had to bail the farmers out.
He ballooned the national debt. His policies tried to turbo charge an economy that Obama left him in good shape. This is partly why inflation got so out of hand. It took Biden/harris three years for their policies to eventually get it under control.
If trump gets re elected he'll benefit from reducing rates but he'll mismanage it and the economy will be in the toilet by '28 to '30.
Trump lives for short term results and instant gratification. I'm not sure he's suited to run anything, never mind the country.
The Apprentice, that's his level.

When you start to scratch the surface on the financials today...if Harris gets in, US is in deep trouble.

Trump gets in then either he'll be blamed or throw a hail mary which may work.

The main concern for me are the wars and actual feeble cowardice with Biden / Democrats with Russia and Iran.

The reptilian cowards.

I wonder how a chart would look in any country showing job growth since covid.

Not at all, i mean he (Shapiro) is a well educated lawyer-politician of the sort the ticket already possesses. The VP pick had to be someone from a non standard political class background who didn’t speak in that way and had actual achievements. Personally I liked Kelly for the role but Walz was also good and needs to go back to honest speaking.

When Walz was mooted his supporters were talking up his tenacity to go after the opposition and his ability to answer questions in a forthright manner.

One VP debate later and that's looking pretty ropey.
