The fact that she's downgraded the issue of the border crossings during the Biden administration until lately which sees her easily positioned as a flip flopper.
That's something Trump's advisors have been unhappy with him with that he hasn't;t attacked Harris on this issue.
I'm with her earlier relaxed position, btw.
so "the border situation" is her flip flop stance on the border situation (whatever this is), or is "the border situation" its own issue?

The border issue for Harris is her relaxed attitude she had toward it a few years back when Biden was elected.
During the debate, I thought it was interesting how both Harris and Trump were accusing each other of being the incumbent. And both were using language of “taking back”. Incumbency is seen as disadvantage this cycle?

I think Harris’s message was more so, “We’re not going back,” as in Trump is a chaos monster who we can’t let in again.
