Democrats sticking with Biden would be a terrible mistake. As for Trump. If we on again it would be unbearable.
I get the impression there is a growing type in the US that want to promote whichever candidate will annoy their opposition the most, it's not about personal gain or building brighter futures for all, it's simply spite. Probably wrong like, but the depths of human stupidity run deep, have asked the 'alright jacks' on here to point at any successes their lot are responsible for in their 13 years - silence. (cowardly silence at that!) What do the trump morons cite as his high points? (not that I'm accusing you of being a trump supporter or part of the klan or similar).

If The Dems manage to get Trump nicked on this Stormy Daniels / Al Capone technicality charge,
They either make a Martyr of him or clear the decks for De Santis

You know donald trump, well this is Stormy Daniels

Without question, this is what today's GOP is all about. Owning the libs is the only issue that matters to them, even if they own themselves.

I'm sure it happens to some degree on the other side, but not nearly to the same degree. If the GOP is a 9/10 on this issue, the Dems are only at about a 3.

No one wanted Biden in 2020. Even less of us want him in 2024. And for me that's really just b/c of his age - he's done a pretty good job thus far to be fair, by any objective measure.

But there is a tangible fear in today's climate that he's still the best option to win. Without any real heir apparent, I think it's going to be Biden again. Most Dems and moderates want to ensure the GOP loses first and foremost, b/c them winning would do further unthinkable damage to this country.

this seems to be primarily on the republican side.
the democrats do the polar opposite and tend to nominate moderates in the hope of mopping up some republican vote.
For once I wish they'd forget about the middle ground and just run a true progressive.

So, just for clarity, you think the next POTUS will either be Trump or Nikki Haley?

It’s a strange one. Biden looks favourite ahead of DeSantis, yet Trump looks favourite for the Republican nomination ahead of DeSantis. Haley is a long shot…who do you reckon…..

I don't think Haley has a chance.
Every GOP politician running or thinking of running wants to see trump convicted otherwise he takes the GOP nomination.
If he isn't convicted and takes the nomination, Biden will beat him handily.
If he does get convicted and ruled out of the race, I'd say it's a clear run for DeSantis.
That could spell trouble for the Dems and DeSanitis is smart and will be well able to play to the Trump loons and the moderates at the same time.
At that point the Dems should consider Buttigeig or Raskin.
I think Trump will be arrested but not convicted so free to run and Biden will beat him again.
Expect to see a lot of Lake who'll likely be Trumps running mate.
So yea, four more years of Biden unless Trump gets convicted. If he does, it'll be madness out there!

I agree with almost all of this
