Tbf, the odds mean absolutely nothing 4 months out. They are a reflection of feelings in the betting markets, nothing else. We shouldn't have been worried when Trump was prohibitive favourite, and shouldn't be overjoyed at Harris' surge.

The outpouring of support for Harris is organic, authentic, and widespread. The fundraising numbers are astronomical, in raw dollars, in number of donors, in number of new donors. So are the numbers for campaign volunteers and for voter registration.

Overconfidence is dangerous, some correction is inevitable, who knows what other freak events may affect the race etc. but there is an excitement on the ground that hasn't been there in a long time.

FWIW Brits seem higher on Kelly than Americans are.

Not saying that Kelly couldn't be the pick, but he's not top of mind here. FWIW I would hate to lose a Senate seat - Obama hurt the Democrats in Congress by bringing several individually popular Senate Democrats from red states into his cabinet, who were usually replaced by Republicans.
