To be fair to the uk, elections is one thing we’re pretty efficient at. Election is called, 6 weeks later we vote. Count the votes that night. PM gets evicted by teatime the next day. Swift justice.

I'm not sure Kelly is a foregone conclusion at all.
Arizona is not a safe senate seat. Democrats would be mad to put that in play in 2026.

While I agree he's not a foregone conclusion, Kelly was elected to the Senate in 2022. His seat is not up until 2028 and the Dem Gov of AZ gets to appoint any replacement.

When a Harris/Kelly combo wins the WH, an Arizona Dem will be at the top of the ticket in 2028. Which I'd think would have to be seen at this point as an advantage for Kelly's replacement.

1. My bad. AZ is one of the states to require a special election in the next even year, so 2026.
2. I meant Harris/Kelly at the top of the ticket.
