My friend who lives in New Orleans just told me the President of Calcasieu Parish, where Lake Charles is located, said anyone who is left there is not going to be evacuated. It's too late. So they should write their name, social security number and next of kin on a piece of paper, place it in a Ziplock bag and put that in your pocket.

Looks horrendous enough, but has this ended up "less bad" than was being predicted? I'd seen talk that there were going to be 2 storey high surges, but not seeing reports of that now
Have to wait and see. Sun has only been up a couple hours and there is still a Cat 1-2 hurricane in the vicinity
