Actually, while Profiles in Courage was ghost written to a significant extent (the first and last chapters are considered to be Kennedy’s own writing, while the rest was merely guided and directed by him and written by his speech writer), the “buying copies to boost sales” story (though there’s contradicting opinions as to whether it’s true) was about “Why England Slept” - JFK’s thesis which his father encouraged him to publish as a book... the British sales of which were donated to the UK (think it was Plymouth, specifically) which had recently been bombed.lol

I think he is still polling at 0% among African Americans?
They probably did this because they literally could not find a single black person who supports him.
It is interesting to think about how different American politics would be if the first primaries were held somewhere representative, and not New Hampshire and Iowa.

Particularly interesting as African American voters, particularly older ones, tend to say they prefer moderate candidates and Pete is clearly trying to position himself as a centrist alternative to him.
Iirc Nevada is one of the few early primary states that is a decent representation of the Dem party as a whole so going to be very interesting to see what their results are.
Disappointed Lisa Simpson still hasn't announced her candidacy. She's meant to follow Donald Trump as POTUS.
