From a legal standpoint, maybe... but isn't he the only one acting responsibly? Or is he talking about just closing locations while NOT delaying the election or providing alternative ways to vote?

Nope - everyone else is going ahead with this (which makes a mockery of this claim that he’s only following CDC advice), it’s a court order and if you don’t stamp on these people now they’ll try and do it in November and delay it for as long as Trump looks like he will lose (or do their usual thing and close polling stations in area where the virus is, which will probability coincide with areas that vote Dem).

Aren’t gatherings of > X number of people banned?

Hate to say it but Trump would have done better than Bernie in that debate. He would of just came out with 4 or 5 obscene rememberable one liners. Could've been lies could be over exaggeration, even be the truth. It would of hit Bidens numbers atleast. Bernie didn’t do what he needed to do in a last chance cornered rat scenario he was in.

I’m not saying he should go on like trump but it was soft stuff again. Not hitting him hard enough in the media or that debate. I guess he is a gent and it is reflected in his policies and his character. wouldn’t go after Warren like that paid off in the end for him.

Sigh.

Iirc, even if they "delay" elections, the House then chooses the next President because there weren't enough Electoral Votes to win outright?

Read something the other day from a constitutional scholar that the terms of POTUS and VPOTUS end on Inauguration Day 2021, whether or not the election has taken place, and that line of succession would then dictate Speaker of House becomes President until election does happen

DeWine has been consistently aggressive in early closing of all venues to stop the spread of the virus, an approach I generally agree with, so I do think in this instance his actions are a genuine attempt at reducing health risks rather than something more sinister.

However defying court orders are a dangerous precedent even given the circumstances and as you say ripe for abuse in the future.

You know that debate the other night? The maddening thing was that the "moderators" kept on asking Bernie and Biden what they would do about the pandemic. They had allll these great ideas....for a year down the road. Nobody ever decded to point that out when Biden was saying "ALL THIS WILL BE FREE!" as his response. What about everyone for the year before tho? Great discussion lads.

If no voting method is approved or there is a delay in voting, then the state legislatures have the right to cancel the election for POTUS and grant Electoral votes (assuming Electors remain faithful) to the candidate of their choice. The states with GOP-controlled legislatures currently have 294 Electoral Votes. Takes 270 to win the election.

It's rather unlikely to happen but it is legal.
