The debates are largely bragging rights and meaningless. It will be largely seen as which old white guy with brain issues held up well. Swing voters already know what Trump is about. Now they will decide if they continue with his nonsense or go with Biden and give him a chance.

The debates will just be entertainment and not much of a factor as you and some in here think it will be. They weren't in the last three cycles either.

But Trump's base would go wild for whatever Trump said about any candidate. They're not a variable here.

Exactly. In the ocean of lies and bull**** he’s spewed out over the years, his statement during the 2016 campaign that “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters,” is probably the truest statement he’s ever made. You can’t base any sort of strategy on how Trump’s base will react. They’re a long lost cause.

Sanders is desperate now. He is literally trying to rally the people in the remaining states. To what end it will work we shall see.

I did vote for him and am disappointed at the outcome but at the same time ragging on the the guy who will take the spot furthers the message that you don't care if your fans vote for him. It proves Sanders detractors correct.

This in part is why he lost some Democrats. If he doesn't want to work with them and help the party. The party her would need if he got the gig to get anything passed.

Other than that its out of his hands really.

It is also backed by a lot of African American and over 50s voters which is probably a more pertinent point. Money is great to have but as Bloomberg showed it has a ceiling of how many votes it can get.

Sanders has got huge donations for working class voters which is fantastic but it don’t mean squat if Biden gets more votes from that community (even whilst not getting their campaign donations).

Beating Trump by any (legal) means necessary is the only thing that matters. I could be wrong, but based on the opinions of anyone I’ve talked to that is still undecided for this fall, a vote for Bernie in the Democratic primary is effectively a vote for Trump in the general. I have yet to talk to any 2016 Trump voters who have soured on him so much that they’re willing to swing all the way into Sanders’ camp.
