A campaign ran on the basis of hope, and not fear. Great to see so many working class young people fight for their futures.

I don't really know the details, but pleased they're being housed.

I posted it in response to Pete who singled out Labour for helping those in need/bankrupting the country by giving away freebies.

A great gesture, and hopefully it reminds people of the fact that this (having a certain % of social housing) is what Ken Livingstone used to insist upon from every new housing development in London. It is what we have sorely missed these past ten years.

Yet that's also the problem for Labour. The youth vote is unreliable; the grey vote isn't.

Which is why we need Young Labour groups across the country to play a more active role within their communities, as to ensure that the young people of this nation feel involved within the democratic system.

We also need to tackle the reasons as to why the 'grey vote' are turning to the Conservatives. Issues such as fuel poverty, a lack of community support, loneliness and social care need to be tackled directly by the Labour Party if we hope to make any leeway in that specific demograph.

It's pretty standard, those with little knowledge or experience vote Labour, then they begin to understand and move over to conservative. Anyway, as I've said, I'm more than happy now that the young have spoken to give them what they want, a lifetime of debt that will make their student debt look like a round of drinks......

I think that's an incredibly simplistic way of looking at the reasons. The Lib Dems went into the 2010 GE with the abolition of tuition fees front-and-place in their manifesto, which only saw a 1% swing in their favour.

I don't care what party you affiliate yourself to, but surely you understand that the young people of this country will always vote for opportunity and investment?

But you wanted Brexit; therefore you must also be a fully fledged ticketholder on the potential national economic disaster train.

I'd live with a short term drop in GDP while we build up our world trade. The whole of the EU trade is less than 10% of our GDP so nothing we can't get around........

You do realise we were all young once. I have said quite a few times now, I'm converted, let's spend and give everyone free money and renationalise everything. Just so long as everyone under the age of 40 understands that they are going to be paying for it. Bring it on, free money for all.......

It's not a question of 'free money', I struggle to understand why you feel the need to simplify such an incredibly convoluted matter such as the economy.

The idea would be to make use of the incredibly low interest rates of which our country can borrow at, as to invest in a re-industrialisation strategy and lift millions of people out of a future of debt and struggle.

As for the repayments, anyone with sense would understand that with a sustainable and sensible rate of inflation, the interest would be wiped out altogether.

The way we have been doing things obviously isn't working. It's time for something new.
