This could be the perfect result for Labour. I'm not sure how they would have fared with an SNP/LD coalition. Corbyn has united his party and put them in the strongest opposition position possible. Winning would have been a poisoned chalice. Best to sit in opposition and wait to pick up the pieces. He's also in a very good place to kick up stink at any further cuts to social services.
Let the Torys take all the punishment for the Brexit mess they created.

They also believe the earth is 6000 years old and won't sell cakes to homosexuals

Ian Paisley Jr, son of the party’s founder Ian Paisley, has previously called homosexuality “immoral, offensive and obnoxious" and said he was “repulsed" by gays and lesbians.

The party once championed a campaign called “Save Ulster from Sodomy”.

Former DUP health minister Jim Wells told a South Down hustings in 2015: “The gay lobby is insatiable, they don’t know when enough is enough”.

He also said children who were raised in a homosexual relationship were more likely to be abused or neglected.

Welcome to the party, Britain. You only thought Theresa May was bad...

It just wouldn't of worked, Corbyn has spoken about respecting the decision of Brexit and intends to honour the result. It would of been a very different type of Brexit but it would still of gone ahead, the Lib Dems and the SNP would not of excepted that.

Tories being propped up by the DUP and forming a government a good thing (For Labour).

Depending on whether there is another election soon (How likely is this?) They are going to ruin their declining popularity even further by forming a government with DUP who have very questionable views and ties.

This will destabilise brexit negotiations massively. Another election soon and Labour have a great chance to muster a minority government at least

Anyone know the likelihood of another election before 5 years time?

Unlikely during negotiations, but I suppose there is a possibility they could finish negotiations and then ask the country to consent to the deal before it comes in. If not they'll grimly hang on for as long as they can.

As for Labour, it all depends on what the PLP do. If there is some contriteness and a willingness to serve in a meaningful way in Corbyn's Shadow Cabinet, they will probably do well at the next election. If they keep doing what they have been doing, then they really have no business being in politics.
