Because their funding comes from central government.

If they had more funds your washing lines would be chockablock with socks for you all to rob.

It does indeed, and this area got cut pretty much more than any other.

You know why? Because the Tories have no political reason whatsoever not to kick the crap out of Kirkby and places like this blindly vote for Labour - they barely have a reason to field a candidate.

Meanwhile, the council passes around backhanders with what spare money there is for utterly stupid modern art projects whilst the actual town dies, and the MP George Howarth does the square sum of nothing.

Mate I live in Walton, I'm aware of what goes on.

Like I've already said I respect your right to vote for something else but I can't pretend I'm not glad most other people round your way don't think the same, because then you would see a slum.

Why? That'd be akin to not turning up, there's no point. I'm not an anarchist.

I live in Knowsley. Howarth/Labour got 78% of the vote last time. The sole reason I'm voting Tory is a vain attempt to lower that percentage down and hope beyond hope others have the sense to do it to give Labour a kick up the arse.
bigger picture mate , if you aint happy with Labour in Knowsley ( understandable) get off ya arse and go to meetings , turn up and complain put pressure on the sods!! But whatever you DONT vote Tory as some daft protest ! I'm not buying that !

Tesco paid for them Tubes, not the Council. It was a sort of 'sorry we couldn't get this deal done but lol, have an Elephant and a Tree.' They - the Art projects - actually had a part to play in the Tesco development. I can't be arsed typing it all out but basically where the Tesco was going to be, the Elephant and Tree would be like directional points for you to see and then investigate and then shop in the Towny. It was never going to work but that's the truth.

Source: I interviewed the artist last year.

Didnt respect me mate!

You ok with the local issues I voted for?

As an aside if I do get banned for calling a Tory a Tory, then that's proof that they are ashamed of what they have done.

As well they should be, and I pray they don't get a cut finger on a parcel delivery and need to use the privatised NHS that they voted for to get stitches. Could be costly...
I'm not banning anyone for calling someone a Tory.

And I've always voted Labour, including today.

And I've worked in the NHS for nearly twenty years.

Not sure what I'm supposed to be ashamed of.

I voted Conservative for the first time in my life.

I didn't vote for May; I voted against Corbyn.

I sincerely hope Labour give me something to vote for next time, as that is my default political leaning. But I'm not going to vote for something that crosses so many personal red lines just because I'm a Scouser and "I'm supposed to".
Oh tubey tubey tubey just as i was starting to like You and then this.. ..

@tsubaki - 36% would be workable (higher than 1992, also higher than 2005). Unfortunately that would also be highest Cons vote share since 1979

Seats number will continue to be a problem
