Nurses pay is an interesting thing that has never been fully exposed - bank nurses take away a stupid amount for the work they do when filling gaps because the NHS create a false economy by keeping less 'full time' nurses on the books. Arguably front line staff could get a pay rise if the NHS actually staffed itself properly rather than using agency staff.

You've typed some absolute tosh in this thread mate but that has outdone the lot.

Nobody wants that.

But people believe that nuclear weapons have done more to stop major conflict than anything else in existence right now.

So people in favour of nuclear weaponry are in favour for reasons of peace, not insanity.

Maybe some people might be wrong.

"War Deaths 1945-2000. An estimated 51 million people have been killed in wars between 1945 and 2000. Almost a third of these deaths were amongst the population of China. China, Vietnam, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan suffered the highest number of war deaths during this period".

The polls show converging and none of that bunkum tonight makes any difference.

May underlined again the danger to people with her hard core social care policy; Corbyn wont convince many Tories on security issues.

I half expect crossover during the weekend polls. Maybe early next week.

Really? Breakdown how it's tosh that an deliberately understaffed NHS is wasting money by paying bank nurses far and beyond what they pay regular nurses and how that it's obscene that it's never been made an issue of.

Oh right - well, 50-80m died between 1938-1945.

So more in seven years than in the following fifty-five. No global power conflicts. Indeed, one definitely stopped by nuclear weaponry in the Cold War.

Funny that.

It's never been made an issue of because you're talking rubbish. Each ward has a budget. Each ward will have a safe staffing level. Every time that level goes down either due to nurses leaving, going on maternity leave, sickness etc then the ward has to use bank staff to fill in the gaps to comply with the policies and procedures. Bank nurses receive exactly the same rate as their normal pay, paid on the same banding. You're talking complete and utter garbage lad.

Can't help thinking May has a face like a tortoise eating a lettuce leaf when under pressure, puts me off listening to her after a while, thought they both did ok to be honest.

Corbyn won it, but conversely it confirmed to me totally that May will walk this election.

Can see why you think that, given some of the questions asked by some of the audience tonight. However I honestly think (and obviously hope) that people are underestimating the young vote, just not sure on whether it will make the difference

Think the young will turn out but how it affects things I don't know as it will be spread out thoughout the country, sure I read somewhere that 2 million more people had registered to vote this time.

'No global power conflicts' - Vietnam, Cambodia, most of Africa, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria etc. etc. etc. have all been major conflicts that has resulted in deaths. There were constant conflicts during the cold war not stopped by nuclear weapons.
