Not surprising as her competency has got scrutinised by the wider public - and she has very little competency to speak of. I've known she is useless for well over half a decade.

Well, that's just it - if they had an alternative, they wouldn't. Corbyn isn't an alternative.

A somewhat decent Labour would smash the Tories here. What we have instead is terrible vs. incomprehensible.
I'm not suggesting they'll switch from Tory to Labour, but I would suggest many will fail to turnout.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the 18-24 year olds turnout is up. They want the Tories punished for Brexit and it could prove vital. That said, I think a Ukip to Labour surge is more important.

If the turnout at this GE is about 70% then the LP are in business in terms of making it a hung parliament; if it's the usual 66% then the Tories will increase their majority (though not enough to get a landslide that will set them up for a a generation to come).

The difference is telling - Corbyn's core voter base don't turn out to vote and basically never have, that being the poor and the young.

Historically not, no. The question is whether they will this time, now that someone has given them a reason to.

Why isn't Corbyn an alternative ?

this could decide the election, on the first point i think there will be spoiled ballots/independents

The other thing to bear in mind about overall turnout is that there could well be in this election a return to the 70% mark, as this is in many ways (in England and Wales at least) an old fashioned tear up between the two major parties.

People seem to disagree with you over Jezzer. He's obviously impressed, given what's happening.
Anyone would impress against that embarrassment May. It's not like he's had to do much to make people think he might be a better option then her. He'd have to be on another level altogether to not look at least half decent against May.
