Yet the lad who carried out this atrocity was a born and bred Mancunian...

Indeed. A pathetic act to carry out against a country who gave his parents asylum. The homegrown element is obviously the most difficult to counter, and I certainly haven't the answers, but those in position of power need to find some.

I prefer Hypernormalisation and the Power of Nightmares before Bitter Lake.

All good stuff, though. And I do feel that Bitter Lake's central point that the USA's need for petrol is the genesis of radical Islam in a very real sense, given the subsequent influence of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia.

I just think it's easy to say close the borders, but how many terrorist attacks would that have stopped over the past 10 years? Zero.

It's difficult to find solutions to the problem. Heartbreaking to say but it might be impossible.

Definately, and the Government has to answer why Libyans who had been banned from travelling to Libya were suddenly allowed excess when the uprising started. We gave them free reign to fight

He has missed one or two open goals - Neil's claim that IS existed before the Iraq invasion for a start - but has handled this far better than May so far.

Yeah, he's buckled at every challenge, hasn't he? Unlike Theresa May. Oh, hang on.....
He is hardly setting a pace in the removal of a government that nobody is happy with is he? Who the heck cares about May? It's up to the opposition to produce a viable alternative, as in they support the guy in droves. If he wins good for him, then it's a whole other game compared to being the opposition. Sorry for the insensitivity.

There were reports yesterday that the bomber's dad was very close to Abu Qatada, which does beg the question of how much was known about the family.

Didnt watch it. Like probably 95% of the population.

So he could have performed like Martin Luther King. Problem he has is every single news item today on the radio has been about him picking an absolutely stupid topic to bring up. Stupid as in it didnt need to be.

May did similar, then quickly rowed back.

My view of him, not that anyone is bothered, is he comes across as a career torch carrier for his own, obviously well meant, obsessions. Hence his utter obscurity until a few years ago on the national stage.

Sorry, but how on earth is that "an absolutely stupid topic to bring up"?

Read what I actually said rather than latching on.

I said, it was stupid in that he didnt need to bring it up. Like May was stupid to have that Care, (sic), policy.

In an election fight, why make a club for others to beat you with? Ergo, stupid.
