@catcherintherye, I think the most important thing is to get the best quality people. Whether they're public or private is irrelevant. Without that throwing money at a problem is unlikely to help, and I personally find it incredibly strange that the manifesto makes no mention of either the original Five Year strategy of NHS England or the update of the same strategy that was published barely a fortnight ago. Instead, the manifesto reads like that doesn't exist, that the executive of the NHS doesn't exist and Labour can simply swing in and save the world.
Regarding your last point, it is perfectly possible to do well by people whilst at the same time making money, unless of course you don't ask for a salary when you go to work and just do it out of the goodness of your heart. Oh to be such a mug
