I'd like to see the end of this horrible politicisation of the NHS, from all parties. Political point scoring gets us nowhere. All politicians guilty of this and I do not like it.
I'd like to see any political party treat it and it's staff as well as it deserves to be treated. It's one of the most important things the UK possesses and needs urgent help. Not much lies on the side of buses.

Exactly. What good does driving around in a double decker with some NHS tagline daubed on it do? If they would just keep ensuring health is always improving and standards never fall rather than using it as a political football.

No mate, no sarcasm intended.
We were discussing how people can be swayed into voting for one point of view or the other. We talked about 'media manipulation' and how it affects peoples decisions. You said "I simply believe we, as individuals, have to weigh everything up and arrive at our own conclusions". I agree with that sentiment but, I believe there is a vacuum in political education in this country, that if corrected, might help negate the things that were discussed in the article we've been debating about?

Ok, fine. And I agree that there is a lot to be done regarding political education. It appears in recent years that a media outlet has called the shots as to which way the British public should vote, and have carried the day - I will not mention that odious newpaper.

The point I was trying to make (probably not very well in hindsight), was that from that article, I did not believe ordinary people believe our 'democracy was hijacked', or 'A shadowy global operation involving big data' had a major role to play for ordinary people. It might be the case that there are layers upon layers, but what we see is what is thrust in our faces via newspapers, TV, and nowadays the internet, not the intricacies of what goes on way behind the scene. I hope I have explained myself a bit better with the foregoing.

If I were prime minister I'd fine every parent smoking around their young children. Seen it 3 times today with mothers smoking over the top of their prams. £100 on the spot fine every time if I were in charge. I don't get some parents, sure just poison your 2 year old why don't you

Fox hunting, Jesus wept. Ridiculously barbaric as a venture anyway, and political dynamite. Mental.
