I don't get that Samba deal...they could sign Heitinga for cheaper, and he is a much better player. (I'm not saying Heitinga out or anything...just saying)

Harry did it at pompey, wanted big players in and paying massive wages.

Harry and Peter Storey destroyed that club, and jumped ship pretty much straigth away at the first sign of trouble.

What they did was similar to a Sopranos episode, the one when the terminator from the second movie lost a load of money in one of Tony's high roll poker games. They took over his sports shop and bought everything on the shops credit till it was bankrupt.

He isn't better IMO, Samba is a good defender, not worth the wages and price QPR are playing but he's definitely better than johnny.

I remember it well LAD.

From BBC:

Harry just told us that it has happened. It hasn't, quite, but BBC Sport's Ben Smith reports that Christopher Samba has passed his medical at QPR and is expected to finalise a £12.5m move from Anzhi Makhachkala any time soon.

It is understood the 28-year-old centre-back has agreed terms on a deal that will see him receive £100,000-a-week, including bonuses and add-ons.

Disgusting really.

Good to see Anzhi can do reasonably well at outgoing transfers as well.

Really wouldn't mind us getting Kenwyne Jones.
Would love him here, great in the air and not bad pace.

08.37 And we like to keep the forces in balance here, so here's some Liverpool ying to that Manchester yang. Here's our man Chris Bascombe.

Everton chief executive Robert Elstone looked like a man steeling himself for another busy day at Goodison last night. If the last 24 hours weren’t hectic enough, trying in vain to resuscitate a deal for Dutchman Leroy Fer after his medical issues, the contacts book has been taking a battering ever since.

Seville’s Alvaro Negredo is the top target today, although discussions with Real Betis regarding midfielder Ruben Castro have also taken place. Barnsley right back John Stones has also been discussed.

For manager David Moyes, it’s a fine line between finding the right addition to maintain the top four push and appearing desperate as the deadline approaches. It’s European pedigree he is after, not just bodies to make up the numbers.

Sorry; could not post the link, and not sure if this has been posted allready; tks

fück off with your kenwynn jones's. We need quality if we're gonna give 4th a serious go.

I highly doubt we will get 4th... We've got to go Chelski, Arse, United, RS, Spurs...
I would love us too, I would be over the moon, it will be very hard.
