Not the most significant award but the first English team to be voted world soccer’s team of the year , which was by journalists from all the around the globe . At the time , pre internet , the magazine was the go to for world particularly European football .

Those professional football writers and connoisseurs of the beautiful game knew they were lucky to be watching something special and so did I .

what a great magazine that was . I used to get it every month from about 94 to 2002 and have read a lot of ones from the late 80’s to early 90’s that my btother still has to this day , I still get it on the off occasion for a read on the train .

Football Italia mag was also decent in the late 90’s / early 000’s
