Remember this game so well!! Was at the game with me Dad, brother, sister and a mate, all crammed together stood about level with the goal line at the end we scored. It was flippin' sweltering and about five minutes after half time my sister decided she was feeling faint and was about to be sick! My Dad said he would take her down the steps out of the sun, and off they went! In his words "as we got to the bottom of the steps there was this bloody great roar, and I knew that I had just missed the first goal against that shower at Wembley!!" He'd been watching Everton since after the war, and I'm not quite sure he ever forgave my sister for missing that goal!
On a slightly different note he died eleven years ago today, he'd love what's going on at Everton at the moment!
One of many great memories of going to the game with him!! Happy times!
