Without a clean sheet. - massive problem.

When will we next get a clean sheet?

Hopefully Swansea.

We've got some pretty straight forward games coming up, especially this weekend.
All our top four rivals have difficult games at the weekend, so we need to take advantage of that as we could be joint 3rd if results go our way.
Mirallas is supposed to be back this weekend as well, so I'm pretty confident with the games coming up until the Man U clash at Old Trafford.

Shame we NEVER take our opportunities

Of course if we won every game 3-2 itd be a brilliant season both from ours and the entertainment perspective, but defensive solidity should be the ambition of any great team, otherwise you leave yourself open to (bad) luck: you can utterly dominate a game but due to defensive errors can throw away points (see Newcastle, Norwich, Arsenal and possibly Chelsea at home as well as Fulham, Reading, Stoke away). With the investment we'd need to correct it - a top class centre half, top class goalkeeper - wed better just forget about it, really.

Every team can be improved and it is clear that our defence is a top priority, i bet Moyes is pulling his hair out with being an ex defender. I would say we need to tighten up at the back, add to the midfield and get some decent cover for Jelavic. Then we can stop dropping needless points to poor teams and we might actually achieve something.

I think the main reason we aren't keeping clean sheets is because we are playing a more attacking expansive style of play this season. When you play like that, you are always liable to concede as more players are pushed forward.
The bigger problem is the amount of possession we have in and around the opponents box without converting that into goals. Without those goals, we really are liable to end up getting 1-1 draws when we should be winning 3-1 or 4-1

This! Especially the second bit about wasted possesion/chances.
