I think at some point humanity will be able to preserve, or 'pause' life (Futurama/Wayward Pines style...) but it's the death then freeze bit that makes me think it's just too implausible.

Yeah, but that would only be any fun if you could pause the good bits. Like I dont fancy being 80 for ages, but being 20 to 30 for ages would be sound.

Except surely your mind would age as normal, no? Imagine having the body of a 25 year old, but the brain of a 50 year old.

Actually, scrap that, count me in.

Possibly - its already evident in nature, HOWEVER... With the population rising at such an expanding rate, I don't think we ought to allow it.

If we are able to cure all illness and live for longer, how is the current planet going to survive it when we are buggering it up already? 100 years ago the population of the earth was roughly 2 billion, by the end of this century the population will be 9 billion at its current rate of expansion. Illness is natures way of thinning the stock so to speak.
