As a parent, if one of my lads had carked it at that age, thank god they didnt, I would obviously grieve and that, would be torn apart, but the thought of them literally in a deep freeze for, what, decades maybe, would give me no closure or solace at all.

In fact, I would still fret like they were still alive.

My grandma has told the family that she wants to donate her body to science. The family ain't happy. What can you do?
No disrespect to Granny Lune, but I've always felt the generic response to this kind of request is "Yes, of course, absolutely we'll respect your wishes" and then just bury them anyway.

Is that unethical? It's a hot potato that's for sure.

Thanksd Terry

If she hasn't put anything in writing/in her will, I think this is what will happen. She might yet change her mind, so its a case of waiting and seeing.

You got plans in place ted? I bet your planning on going big - bagpipes, choirs, a show Hollywood would be proud off.

Or am I completely wrong?

Also, who's to say the future humans are going to agree to reanimate her, even if they can? We might be talking 200 years. I can imagine some scientist dudes like those on Westworld stood around the cryocoffin, thinking 'well, off you go then' 'no, you it!' 'sod off, I'm not doing it!' 'ah forget it, stick it back in the fridge, let's go the cyberpub'

I'm thinking logically mate. It isn't a case of a switch and a bolt of lightning ala frankenstein to reanimate a body. We might not be able to comprehend it now fine, but it would be a massively complex process.

And that isn't even factoring in the point that the tech may never exist legally considering why would anyone fund a technology when the issue 50 years from now will be the world's population?

To be fair you do think getting a toilet seat off is complex.

I dont get it? she's dead?

Are they saying she can be brought back to life? why not remove the cancer and then bring her back to life?

If one day they can cure her cancer and jump start her then that's the idea.

At present she couldn't be resuscitated and if she somehow then she would have the same cancer.
