if DM is demented about a lack of signings then the rest of us should be worried sick. We usually brush off all this pre season stress with a 'at least DM knows what he's doing and has got something up his sleeve'.

Looks like all DM has got up his sleeve at the moment is a hairy arm so yes, I'm worried that Saturday will come and go with no signings, Lescott gone and Jack playing CB.
I won't be there so I won't have to witness the angst in the Lower Gwladys. In fact, I won't be attending any games this season, ST refund on the way.
Still love my team but EFC, the club, can go and swivel!

To be fair.. we are in a worse situation now than at the beginning of last season.

Jags & Arteta are injured for a while longer, Yakubu is only just getting back to fitness, Lescott wants out since he has shown what a type of character he is & we have very few first team players fit.

last season when we were forced to start rodwell (first game start i believe), and bring baxter on off the bench cos we had literally 0 other options, with osman playing a dodgy central forward role.

We still had Arteta, Yak, Jagielka, Yobo, Lescott, Baines...

We dont have Arteta, Yak, Jagielka, Lescott (pretty much anyway) at the moment....

Makes a good point, I think.

We have to be realistic, for us to get 4th spot we need more than what we are given, and with DK still up in the air, not much is going to be available until that uncertainty is sorted out.

Finished 5th last two seasons. Two semi's and one final. Not bad for a team with no money.

I was just saying that if we need to get 4th we need to spend, and we need investment. I'm not convinced that we won't finish 5th again this season.

It's all about team spirit, not mercenaries.

Spurs + City will finish above us. IMO.

Apparently Spurs and Villa were going to finish above us last season and they didn't. Spurs were even tipped for CL, and until Redknapp got there, they were relegation fodder.
