1 year on, just as useless !!

Today was the first day this season that I started to count the points between us and the relegation zone. I just hope we beat Newcastle next week because if they beat us we'll be 5 points off the relegation zone and looking over our shoulder for the rest of the season.
With this squad of players we should be in the top 6. Martinez is building us a great squad but what use is that if he can't get results with a great squad?!

It's also worth noting that last season Gareth Barry, Ross and Rom were nowhere near as good as they've been this season, we've added Geri and yet were just as bad.....

That's absolutely right mate.

Lukaku is another one who has had a monster season so far.

And yet here we are, bottom half, six wins all season.

Very difficult not to just take a big view of it as all generally being a bit wrong.

We're in exactly the same position in the table 12th but we're 3 points better off (29) than we where last season (26) after 23 games. Its not time for me to turn on him but it is evident he does need to improve or we won't be achieving anything of note. On the plus side we have a semi on wed which we go into with a 2-1 lead.

Unless we go on a ridiculous winning streak he has to go I'm afraid. Because one good season does not buy the goodwill of two bad ones. Not even average ones, which is consider 7th-9th ish. But genuinely underperforming.

Personally I think it will all come together for Martinez soon and we should be patient but I don't get why people believe there are only poor managers out there. Simply not true. There are lots of better more experienced managers about. Just older. Look at Guidolin created some excellent teams with small budgets , won cups, played champions league. A lot more than Martinez.

This is the first time in a long time that I'm genuinly worried about a relegation battle. Martinez has to go asap...I just cant see this (exciting) brand of football getting us anywhere. We have the greatest cb in the entire galaxy with Stones (pffft), the joint highest scorer in Lukaku, Boss Ross who is likened by many as the new Gazza. Its brimming with stardust but playing suicide football. It aint gunna end well.
Get rid !!!!

Look at the RS. Nearly won the league, followed by a bad season and a bad start to this campaign and it was bye bye Rodgers. Martinez is very lucky to still be in a job.

Martinez was lucky to get the Everton job after getting Wigan relegated. I do not think the board have the bottle to dismiss him, i hope they do though before its too late

Who's going to "let him go" exactly? With what is going on with Bill at the moment, is anyone back there capable of making such a decision?

Big worry for me as well. Apart from McCarthy, besic and Barry I just don't see anyone in this team that would be up for the 'fight' of a relegation battle. We'd still be trying to play our 'barcelona' style football in a relegation scrap which would be a recipe for disaster ala Wigan when they got relegated. The man is too stubborn to change his beliefs.

Being in that semi is a distraction, we are missing the bigger picture here, its great we are on the verge of a final but we have to get shut of this clown, but obviously we are not going to do that while we are still in that competition. Awkward situation, we have to win on Wednesday, but its just as important he is gone soon, which isn't going to happen if we beat City.
