“PREMFLIX” - Premier League T.V.

Probably be the end of us hoping to just be a “competitive” club. The likes, of Liverpool, City, United and maybe Chelsea, will bring in hundreds of millions each as no way will the money be shared as it is currently.

Be like the Spanish league, where Barca and Madrid take about 80% of broadcasting revenue. Everyone else just gets the scraps.

Apples and pears mate, but you keep on fighting the good fight.

Great bunch a lads, those scab6 euro super league proposing fellas, sure, they meant no harm, so they dint.

Them 6 clubs done it to get a bigger slice of the pie , for pure greed and would have sold all the other clubs down the river to get it.

Our American owners would do the same as well given the opportunity. For some reason you are denying it.

The Premier League was created for greed, not for the greater good of the game.

I understand why people are worried about this - but the league needs to vote to change the distribution of TV revenue.

And most of the clubs won’t do that.

It’s exactly why the 6 tried to make the Super League happen. Because the Premier League doesn’t allow them to hoover up what they consider their fair share.

This was inevitable the minute Sky persuaded greedy clubs, ourselves included, to break away from the rest of the football league. We had an amazing system of redistribution meaning clubs could go from the 4th to the 1st division and compete, and no club could just outspend every other and we threw it away. Football in this country has been in steady decline since for fans of nearly every club. Personally I'd be delighted if it all goes to pot and there's some stupid intercontinental competition because then I could stop watching it. It's only my ingrained love for Everton (the club not this team or manager, it's like watching paint dry) that keeps me watching.

They talked the other clubs to break away from the Football League, they will attempt to do the same again when the current TV deal ends.

The difference there was that the other 17 clubs were cut into a fairly even deal. They wouldn't have signed up for it otherwise.

That's been the underpinning ever since.

It'd be dreadful if that changed - but I just can't see a workable way it would.

As I say, that's why the Super League idea came about - because the PL as a whole wouldn't have it.

When money and greed is involved anything can happen.

The vote has to be 14/6 for any change to happen.

The next TV deal will be key, Premier League had to give away nearly a 100 extra games to get the same value deal. Clubs will not want to accept a lower deal and definitely not the scab 6 clubs. Then you will have the likes of us, Villa and Newcastle thinking we could have a bigger share of TV money compared to the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth.

The promoted clubs will be bought off to support and you have the 14 clubs to support the change via a vote.

There aren't 14 clubs who'd be better off with individual deals. That's the basic economics of it.

They can be bought. The Football League used to share the TV deal equally amongst all clubs in all divisions before the Premier League was created.
Yes, and that only changed because a viable league was formable with enough clubs that would all benefit.

The Super League, drafting in mega clubs from the continent, was the only way to expand the pie for the minority at the top.

The status quo suits the majority of the Premier League, and I expect it to hold.

That's not idealism on my part, it's just how I perceive the reality of the situation.

Your mileage may vary.
