David Moyes: Everton Manager & Tactical Discussion
David Moyes returned to Everton in January 2025, marking a second tenure for the man who famously coined
the term "The People's Club." After a trophy-winning spell at West Ham, Moyes was appointed by The Friedkin Group to provide stability during the club’s historic move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
With over 500 games managed across his two spells, the Scotsman remains one of the most experienced figures in Premier League history. This hub serves as the primary destination for all David Moyes discussion, covering his tactical "pragmatic modernism," recent match results, and his long-term vision for the Blues' future.

Smart words from Davie. Also rules himself out of the Villa job -- like he needed to do that.
He didn't invent 4-5-1, but we hadn't seen it quite like we did with Carsley sweeping up after a very highly drilled midfield, sat protecting the defence.
He didn't invent playing the aerial ball to the big man (AKA hoof) but again tonight we saw yet another Fellaini header assist. (Saha FA...
what kind of financial situation are we in?
is Everton able to do new signings without selling a player?
im amazed about the fact that spurs and others too are spending lots of money (not to mension about city and chelsy) like possible Raul move. is that all dept money?

From what I've seen of the lad, he looks as though he has genuine quality on the ball and pace, also a good footballing brain, could be a very influential member of the squad this season, even though it's only pre-season matches I've seen him in, I'm quite excited by this signing.
Everton boss David Moyes said the cash strapped club are unlikely to sign any more new players before the end of the transfer window.
Speaking after Everton's 2-0 victory against new A-League franchise Melbourne Heart - the Blues second consecutive victory on their three-match pre-season tour...
I've waited for a game where he'll be commentating, and now I get one my freeview doesn't have the alternate commentary option :(
Is it the same for everyone else?

Pretty bored and after seeing Hsd draw some of my favorite Everton players, I thought i'll grab a pencil and paper and brush off the old scanner.
Bare in mind this isn't a serious go. Just a laugh really..
..feet up at Finch Farm, and the phone rings, its Bill Kenwright - Bill says " Davy, we've offers on the table for both Mikel & Pienaar I've got to accept one bid - but i'm not going to choose regardless of how long Steven has long on his contract - and Mikel is settled as he always says -...
You know, not a bad read there. Great when he talks about 5-6 of the best players in there position. And Fellaini and Arteta being the best partnership in the prem...
If you scroll down to the latter end of this article, and pay attention, you will hear why Mr Donovan chose our Everton.

...anyone seen it?...I found it quite depressing really, he is asked about the opimism of Everton fans for next season. And he shot it all down by saying that he doesn't mind optimism as long as it isn't misplaced, basically saying that we can't compete with th spending power of the clubs around...
Just wanted to share with you guys that about my evening last night. Met David Moyes and shook the mans hand at Mark Halsey's sportsmans dinner charity event. He spoke for about 10 minutes saying what a privlidge it was mangeing Everton Football Club will always be thankfull for them giving him...
For me David Moyes has been one of the best things to happen to Everton in the last 10-15 years. I was just wondering how long he/we are going to stay together without a cash injection? I am really excited about next season but if we dont have the injurys we had this season and still fail to...
The ones that stand out for me are:
Tim Cahill - £1.5m
Steven Pienaar - £2m
Mikel Arteta - £2m
Nigel Martyn - free
Phil Jagielka - £4m
Joleon Lescott - £5m - sold for £24m, great business.
In my opinion, I reckon it has to be Martyn. He single-handedly kept us up in the 03/04 season...
Free scouting or a knees up, either way stop Dithring Davie:

Luckily, TheSun is not a reputable rag....right?
This is from the OS, and how right DM is. It just shows how far we'v come. When he took over we were always favourite for relegation. Now were really looking for champions league. Next season could be quite special.....
Mr Moyes i fookin luv you..!!!
I remember the days with Walker and Smith. Terrible football, no tactics and no young guns. Under Moyes we are playing football like Arsenal and Manch. U. with neat passes, good set pieces and many
leaders on the pitch. So glad we got Moyes...can't wait to next season.
We only got two...
