Best atmosphere at GP you've seen

I'm another one who's gonna mention Southampton in 1981. Bayern was the best for me though (been going since 1976). The 6-0 's v Coventry and Chelsea were brilliant and Ipswich in the FA Cup in 1980 was pretty special as well, they were a great team and having beaten us 4-0 at Goodison a few...

    Old Everton Pictures

The kits look almost identical in black & white even down to the emblems, QPR have dark socks on though, so he's one of their defenders.

Best away game you've been to.

Yeah, he did, tortured us that night. I never went on the official coaches myself but I'm sure somebody would remember?

If there was one Everton match you wished you hadn't been at and missed it - when was it?

That City one came to my mind too, sat in that "golf" stand in the corner, in the rain, watching Everton make Paul Dickov look like Zico.

Best away game you've been to.

I'll have a nose at that myself it'll be a long, long time since i've seen those goals. I'd forgotten it was straight after the Liverpool game. So in a fairly short space of time we overcame Liverpool over three games, won at Old Trafford and then went and got ourselves knocked out of the cup by...

Best away game you've been to.

I think it was Mike Newell? I remember we were 2-0 up at half time and obviously that's how it finished.

Best away game you've been to.

I was at that game you mention (2-0) and was actually sat in that block of seats rather than standing behind the goal. Ryan Giggs made his debut for them that afternoon. Yes, we had a pretty respectable record at Old Trafford back then.

Best away game you've been to.

We were only given a few hundred, I couldn't get one, but one of my mates did, before the redevelopment as well as the scoreboard terrace, we'd also get a block of seats at the top of their main stand, that night obviously we just got the seats. I can't remember how they organised the sales of...

If there was one Everton match you wished you had been at but missed when was it?

Rotterdam for me too, I was still at school (my last year). It didn't bother me so much at the time as a 16 year old, especially as I had a ticket for the FA cup final and was excited about going to that, but now....I guess at the time I thought there would be more opportunities in the future to...

Best away game you've been to.

Just for how well the team played that day, I'll say the 4-0 win at Newcastle, Boxing Day 1986, my first ever trip there, full house at St James Park and to be fair to their fans, most of them stayed to the end and many of them gave Everton a standing ovation at full time.

    November 5th 1989

Was at this game, travelled everywhere with Everton back then. I know it's on youtube, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to watch it again, even after all this time! I remember how small the crowd was (a regular occurence everywhere back then, even at Liverpool and Man Utd), though I also...

    Memorabilia identification

Yes, a pre season tournament in Prague would be a fantastic trip to go on. Back in those days of course it was behind the "iron curtain". I know pre season results don't really matter but it was a terrible start to what would end up being a horrible season. I was only a kid at the time, but I do...

    Memorabilia identification

i've found a more up to date EFC statistics site, going off this I reckon we must have played in a pre season tournament over there alongside Sparta, Hertha Berlin and Royal Antwerp given how close together the games are? I'm guessing they must have made some unofficial (given how our crest...

That would have been the season before. I remember that because the away leg at Blackpool was my first "proper" away game (not including Anfield which was a 10 minutes walk from our house!).

I remember being at that game, it was actually a draw ( 1-1 ), they equalised in the last minute. Alan Ball played for the Saints that night, his last ever game at Goodison Park I believe?

    "Watch Classic Matches Again"

Arsenal 2 Everton 2, 18/11/1978. Everton remain the only unbeaten team in Division 1, Mickey Walsh still having bad luck in front of goal, Clive Thomas being the centre of attention - again, and for any tennis fans, an interview with the brilliant Vitus Gerulaitus who'd been at Highbury to watch...

    "Watch Classic Matches Again"

A 2-0 win at West Ham (29/02/1992 - a very rare leap year date game) thanks to goals from Maurice Johnston and the late Gary Ablett. As well as the goals, there's also footage of the protests during the game from some unhappy Hammers, something to do with a "bond scheme " they were bringing in...

    Handball by Onana

I think the stat is that it's four years since we played in a game where we had a one man advantage? We were down to 10 men when Moura was sent off.

Your top 20 worst/stupidest Everton signings

Don't really like slagging anybody off who's worn our jersey but I'll mention one - John Spencer. Apologies if he's already been mentioned elsewhere, only flicked through this really. I did see Terry Curran get a mention and while it didn't really work out for him permanently, I'll always love...
