...pointing out that your inference that a £100m spend was merely the same as everyone else’s & therefore Moyes shouldn’t be expected to surpass Dyches point total in 23/24 ignores the fact that there was a negative net spend of Euro 42.3 m in that season. So Moyes has achieved 1 more point with...

Dyche isn't relevant though is he.
  3. Bluepablo

    2025/26 David Moyes

It’s relevant because Dyche achieved a similar number of points with a negative net spend.

“he saved us” yeah so did Dyche and we all wanted him gone. The Cult of Moyes is such an issue.

You keep throwing this 100mil spend around as if it wasn't just to keep us at the same pace as most of the teams around us who also spent huge amounts of money.

One more point than Dyche in 23/24 after spending £100m plus a couple of loans would suggest otherwise.

Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

I think a lot of it is. You plonk a Moyes or a Dyche in at Bournemouth and they won't get the same results. They have a system in place that works. I don't think at this stage, Everton do. I'm sure I am wrong though!

    Retro Andy Burnham

But Burnham did very well there in the mayoral election as I understand. Basically it'll be determined by what the Greens do. If a split within the left vote is avoided there Burnham will be in business, big time.

    Retro Andy Burnham

Sad thing is they lost 24 seats out of 25 to Reform a week ago. Unless he is planning to have Dyche as his campaign manager to cope with the 24 seat deduction it might not really matter which colour shirt he is wearing.

I was getting all emotional with the gooey nostalgic gratitude and platitudes of the Seamus retirement thread so have come here for cynicism and abrasive arguments as an antitdote. Moyes out! Barely better than Dyche.

Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

Pretty sure they've been through 6 managers in 6 years at Roma.

    Yes. What's the problem

Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

If only we did that when Dyche was sacked. Wait

Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

...see TFG being that proactive. Keeping Moyes is more gentle and safe. Whatever our thoughts are about recent results ultimately it's not like Dyche before Moyes arrived. We're not in Tottenham's or West Ham's shoes. Moyes gets praise but also should be criticised. Keane and Tarkowski...

    2025/26 David Moyes

The performances this season have gone backwards v the performances post Moyes last season such that we are only 1 point ahead of Dyche 23/24 with 6 points to play for. I do fear that if Moyes stays it is going to end in tears at some point next year. He’s not suddenly going to change so can’t...

It looks like likely he'll be here next season, and I'm not against it. He doesn't deserve to be sacked at all, but we need to see progress next term. There's better managers who are likely available, but next season is key for him.

    2025/26 David Moyes

We were in a battle because of Sean Dyche an abomination of a football manager. I've maintained for years any manager who is even half decent wouldn't of had us near relegation battles. Moyes came in like the competent manager he is and took us to were we should of been easily.

So you have us losing the last two games? I appreciate other supporters who want a new more expansive manager,I just don't see one who'd be available in the Summer who'd we'd realistically attract who could make that transition with the squad we have.
