Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Which reports are these? Even if Dibling puts us close to the PSR threshold, we only have one loan in as things stand so we can play the loan market for another 2-3 as required.

Citizen of Suburbia is adamant and id respect his opinion more then most. I also see a few signs in our negoating position that would indicate the need for value, to make me think.

Agreed on a loan and frees but you are into the Brownhill market then and though a deal like that could be necessary if COS is correct, it wouldn't get the heart racing, nor would i particularly be a fan.

I guess we will see, either believing or not - most are projecting based on their own opinion.

20 years of mismanagement can’t be fixed in 1 window.

Our financial income is a pittance compared to the other 5 teams who never been relegated.

Here an example when the RS new shirt came out there was over 2h queues to get it.
We are so far behind not just on the pitch but off it, let’s be perfectly honest we need to replace every players to get a team that can get in the top 4
I think some underestimate how much you can actually do with one window if your recruitment is good enough.

If you compare us with the rebuild Crystal Palace had to do a few seasons ago you can see how much 1 window can shift your fortunes.

For an outlay of about 60 mil they managed to bring in Guehi, Andersen, Mateta, Olise, Hughes and also Gallagher in on loan.

Now they haven’t instantly shot up the table but they overhauled the level of talent in the squad, multiplied their value after continuing to build with smart, reasonably priced transfers (Wharton, Munoz, Sarr, Lacroix etc) and now they’re playing European football with an FA Cup (and Charity Shield) to show for it.

As a club Everton have a better platform than they did to build off of but it’s looking like we’re missing the opportunity to properly rebuild the squad.

The thing to have done would have been to pencil in a handful or more definite starters when fit.

Then focus on the other positions.

Its just common sense but the signings so far point to the opposite.

This is the mentality that will ensure that we will never escape this cycle of circling the drain. The longer you aim for just being better than 3 other teams while everyone around you is striving to improve, the likelihood of one of those teams eventually being better than you increases.
I say that because we're not managed by a progressive manager and we dont have quality players being brought for us.

If you think right now we dont need to be preparing for a relegation struggle then you're not following through with your own argument that this summer window has been a disaster,...

This season yeah, we probably will be, but you specifically said “this season and next”. So why not the next one after that too? What time is the right time to aim for higher than 17th?
