Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I actually can't stand this line of thinking from fans yeno.

Whether we've made 'enough' signings yet or whatever, we still have a squad of players to prepare and 3 games to play before the window closes. Absolutely no one should be 'sacrificing' any games and if that's seriously the mentality then that is a disgrace and a clear dereliction of duty from the coaching staff..
Well I’m sure the coaching staff aren’t literally thinking they just won’t bother with these games, and I don’t think anybody believes that to be the case. The shouts you’re talking about are people saying that by not having our strongest team in place by game one we’re effectively sacrificing points. It’s pretty obvious and also entirely fair.

This

It doesn't help that the transfer window and the start of the season are out of sync, but we still have time to make the quality additions.

Think we'd all rather we took our time and signed quality, rather than panic and buy rubbish, starting this whole cycle over again
Agree.

I'd rather 'go with what we've got' then spend money on filler either way. We have a great opportunity to build this squad back up with better quality over time, so we need to just hold our nerve and stick to our guns if you ask me.

Disagree.

The line from @bullybeef was literally 'It’s sad how every year Everton are happy to sacrifice the opening fixtures of the PL by not recruiting early enough.'

This sounds like a fan who indeed does believe that the club are 'happy' to sacrifice games purely because our transfer business hasnt been wrapped up by mid August, does it not?

I'd certainly like to hope that Moyes et al arent just phoning it in based on this, but it doesnt stop some fans from believing that it should somehow absolve them of responsibility either way..

Nothing wrong with hoping/expecting that we land additional targets? there's still 22 days of the window left. Loads of movement still to happen across the leagues..
You are right, nothing wrong with hoping and I’m an optimist (mostly) but being a realist at this juncture of the transfer season,I’m getting more and more concerned, especially after yesterday’s game.
The stadium made my day its almost unbelievable it’s ours👌🏻😃
