I just don’t see how we can possibly finish 6th. Lots of good sides in this division. Not like Moyes’ first spell when you’d have Bolton Wanderers in the top 6.

Why not? We were only 18 points behind 6th last year and we were awful for half the season. If our defense keeps it up (or improves) and we add goals there's no reason why it can't happen.

Nottingham Forest finished 7th last season and there is no reason why we can't do similar.

We also lost Lindstrom and Mangala who played the first half of the season. They’re all players that played in the first team last season that we haven’t replaced. So regardless of what you think of them our starting XI is weaker and our squad depth is most certainly much weaker.

They weren’t a loss though, we were much better without them, mainly due alto a better manager but the point remains.

They need replaced though. We need an actual squad which we don't have

If we just get rid of every player we thought was poor and went with the logic that they don't need replaced because they weren't very good, then we'd have about 8 players at the club

Yeah the deal with Napoli I thought was done and dusted.

Be a great signing but hardly seen the lad changing his mind to come here do you.

Only remote reason is he won't start for Napoli, but even so, yeah I'd say no chance.

I’m not disputing that, I’m not sure why you think it’s binary in getting a starter or getting a squad player
or are you saying we don’t need anymore CMs other than a starter as we have those players above? In which case I don’t think Moyes wants Armstrong as an option this year, I think he wants him out on loan.

Because signing backup players on mid-long term deals doesnt progress the squad.

You're also being told the likes of Brownhill is a target by DeanJones - and you believe him even though he works for the equivalent of a school newspaper doing geopolitics stuff

18 points is quite a lot.

And why not? Because there are more than 6 better teams. We can hope it happens, but I’d bet it doesn’t.

Well, we do actually need bodies at this stage of proceedings like. The dream window everyone expected where we signed Europe’s top talent for mega bucks obviously hasn’t materialised has it.
