He does play exactly like he needs a loan, still looks inexperienced and just a bit random. Problem for him is he spent a year on loan at QPR two seasons ago and made 32 appearances. If he still needs another loan, two seasons after that, at 22 and not getting anywhere at Villa or with us (admittedly always injured), then he should be sold really. If we had more bodies, we could be more ruthless.

A championship loan will do him little good as he's been there for that and the same issues persisted.

Said a whilst back he needs to either be sold or preferably moaned out to a decent team in Holland or middling team in Germany - a league which will focus on different aspects of his game, then either he develops those or he doesn't and we cut him loose.

As a club for way too long we've been sentimental in holding onto mediocrity hoping it'll turn into quality, lads young enough that you'd likely get roughly the money back on him which would be if better use getting another signing over the line.

I agree. Which of those is Josh Brownhill?

For me none.

Clearly he’s depth as he’s better than Tim Iroegbunam and personally I’d argue he’s probably better than James Garner.

Thats a grey area and im not in favour whatsoever.

Id have Garner and Armstrong for depth and bring in 1 starter.

Once we have that i'd be looking for one more starter in the middle.

I don’t care. None of them needed 10 new players.

We are undoubtedly short of numbers but for me we’ve ‘only’ lost 3 regular first teamer’s in Harrison, Young and Doucoure.

None of whom have been replaced as yet, but I can’t accept there aren’t players below what we appear to be aiming for that can offer more than them who we will be able to get in.

FWIW, unfortunately I fully expect Jack Harrison to be back by the end of the window too. Ostensibly as a squad player but at this rate who knows.

Cant believe people turn their noses up at Josh Brownhill when we have a midfield that would struggle to get in the Tranmere side.

We also lost Lindstrom and Mangala who played the first half of the season. They’re all players that played in the first team last season that we haven’t replaced. So regardless of what you think of them our starting XI is weaker and our squad depth is most certainly much weaker.

You know how many CM we have for 2 positions?

We have Iroegbunam, Garner, Gana and Armstrong.

We need a starter.

I’m not disputing that, I’m not sure why you think it’s binary in getting a starter or getting a squad player
or are you saying we don’t need anymore CMs other than a starter as we have those players above? In which case I don’t think Moyes wants Armstrong as an option this year, I think he wants him out on loan.

We’ve got 1 midfielder who’s fit for purpose and he’s 36. We need multiple midfielders and they won’t all be £40m superstars.

Yeah mate, so let's sign absolutely atrocious players like Brownhill and errrm oh yeah get stuck with them for 3-4 year contracts and show we have learned nothing at all from the past 7-8 years.
