Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah mate, so let's sign absolutely atrocious players like Brownhill and errrm oh yeah get stuck with them for 3-4 year contracts and show we have learned nothing at all from the past 7-8 years.

Whatever you do don’t look at our current midfield options.

He’d be our second best midfielder to a 36 year old. So it doesn’t look great if he’s absolutely atrocious.

We are undoubtedly short of numbers but for me we’ve ‘only’ lost 3 regular first teamer’s in Harrison, Young and Doucoure.

None of whom have been replaced as yet, but I can’t accept there aren’t players below what we appear to be aiming for that can offer more than them who we will be able to get in.

FWIW, unfortunately I fully expect Jack Harrison to be back by the end of the window too. Ostensibly as a squad player but at this rate who knows.
I’m only counting Barry as a Broja replacement at the moment, until he does something worthy of competing with Beto.
Early days though, he’s just settling in.

This is a signing which we'll be spitting about in 18 months when he's got half of his contract term left and is bleeding us for £60k pw whilst he's nowhere near the first XI.

We don't need bodies. We need footballers.

Well, we do actually need bodies at this stage of proceedings like. The dream window everyone expected where we signed Europe’s top talent for mega bucks obviously hasn’t materialised has it.

We also lost Lindstrom and Mangala who played the first half of the season. They’re all players that played in the first team last season that we haven’t replaced. So regardless of what you think of them our starting XI is weaker and our squad depth is most certainly much weaker.
I’m not suggesting we only need 3 players btw - hence why I said I’m not bothered by Brownhill as a squad player for free.
All I’m saying is 3 good signings and we should be a better team than last year (until injuries kick in)
We simply aren’t going to get 2 high quality players in every position, as in all likely good the same 11 will play for 80% of our games until we get into Europe.

Cant believe people turn their noses up at Josh Brownhill when we have a midfield that would struggle to get in the Tranmere side.

That Tim fella was run rings around by Accrington Stanley and people want him starting Premier League football matches LOL

Yeah it sounds like he’s pushing recruitment doesn’t it, with his constant digs at the recruitment team about how far behind we are. Maybe if they’d done their jobs and got off their lazy arses earlier than July 1st we wouldn’t be in a position where we’re contemplating free agent signings in August because we have no players?
Moyes wants Moyes players. His comments show this.

The club are looking at younger talent with resale value. The bids we have made and the players we have signed shown this.

Classic Mexican stand-off. The same reason why West Ham got rid. I'm not comfortable with it, or with Moyes.

Haha oh yeah conveniently it’s Moyes’ fault, despite him being visibly fuming at the state of the squad.
